Hanging my lights and lightproofing my closet.

I don't want to build or buy a cabinet because I have a closet thats perfect. But the doors are sliding doors, and leak a lot of light. What can I use to stop this? There are spots up to an inch of light leak, the doors aren't that even.

Also, is there anything I could use as a wall right behind my doors. For the reason of reflectiveness. The other 3 walls aren't a problem, but What could I use that will completely lightproof my closet, IDEALLY completely seperate it's air from the outside air. ( For smell ), and also create reflectivity. Any ideas?

My next question.
How can I hang my HPS light? It's pretty heavy, and I don't know if drilling wood or any kind of railing to hold it into the dry-wall will be sturdy enough. Any ideas? Should I build something? Like 3 pieces of wood, just to have a bar going atop the grow to hang a light?

if I was you I would get some of the white poly and hang it up on the inside of the door. As far as the light go's I would say anything that holds it up.

For the light hanging use two eye hooks rated for 15-30 lbs.

As for lightproofing you will ned some black/white poly.Hang it so the whiteside reflects light back to the garden and the blackside facing outward to block light getting into garden during lights off.Hang the poly using velcro tabs.

Astro, just make sure u have room for your babies to breath. My first grow i used my closet in my old place and it got damn hot in there and i had no way to put a vent fan in. If this is the same case for you, i would recommend leaving the door open as much as possible to get as much fresh air as u can to them. (during the day when ur sittin around alone, etc.) -Opt

i got the hanging of the light problem solved.. you wanna make like an "I" out of 2x4's and use metal brackets then wedge the mofo up at the top and screw in the corners. theres always studs in the corners and now you got a whole length of 2x4 down the middle of your closet. you its pretty much 2 2x4s that are the depth of your closet and one the entire length of yoru closet.

Thank you I got pron. That will work. :) I dont have to worry about ventilation too much. I can always open the closet. And i'm lucky. In my closet in the ceiling is the only entrance to our unused attic. This is a good place for me to always be able to suck in fresh-outside air and exhale all that weed smell. :)

Exactly what I was going to say. And you can seal pieces of poly together with 3M spray-on adhesive.

For ventilation, cut a circular hole the size of your exhaust ducting (after you get some) and route it into the attic. Attach a carbon filter if need be. And pull in air from the house (it'll always be very near the same temp = less fuss).

Good luck.

Hey bandan. Does that spray adhesive really work well enough to hold up the pandafilm? And I mean, tightly? I would be opening and closing it through the zipper and I wanna know if it'll hold tightly enough. I work in the paint dept of homedepot, lol, so it's not like I don't know where the glue is. ^^;;
