handheld flir rental?

idea

Member
i am thinking that in the future i might set up a sizable operation. as part of that i would want to rent whatever kind of handheld flir cameras commonly used by the filth.

has anyone ever done this? how did you know which model to use? how much was it? would you do it again?

thans.

why would you want to use it?

He probably wants to use it on his own place to get an idea of what the piggies see if they were to FLIR it themselves.

idea- I don't know of anyplace that rents them and that might be a tad suspicious...what would you say you are using it for?

Your best bet is to buy one.

bingo.

maybe i would say that i am interested in purchasing some investment property (like a small refigerated warehouse) and i wanted to check for heat loss or weak insulation. i need to read up on 'legitimate' uses for these things before i rent or buy one so i can make up a good story.

i am very careful about ventilation and heat but i want to make absolutely sure that i am doing it right, so i thought about getting one of the flir cameras. and i know the pigs routinely break the law so a supreme court case saying they can't use flir without a warrant doesn't mean shit in my book.

i just remember the cocaine cowboys dvd documentary and one of the main guys talking in the dvd extras about the countersurveilance research he did. he went out and brought the same wireless microphones the filth used and tested them to find out their limitations. then he adjusted the operation to counter the mikes. i thought that was pretty slick.

You could always run your lights during the day.. They don't use FLIR in the daytime.. People will come back and say "yea but if they look at your bill your electricity will be running very high during the day, that's suspicous." But to me that's a stupid argument.. Because I rather have high electrical useage in the day then cops using FLIR to scout the grow and get a warrant.. If they are poking around in your electrical records and hitting your grow with FLIR then usually you are caught already.. High energy use in itself is not a crime.. So you messed up somewhere else..

Actually, FLIR type devices are being used now by green remodler's and such and for exactly the reasons you mentioned (checking for heat leaks, etc.). They're handheld units, but I have no idea where you'd get one. Not sure how they match up against the LEO units either.
