Thanks for the kind words man!

Yes the AK-47 was the best girl I found in a pack of seeds about a year ago now.

The seed plant was the best yielding plant I had ever run up to that time, yielding about 4 ounces per plant vegged 60 days in a 5 gallon container. This was under a 400 watt light using a SCROG, and I could fit 4 plants under each 400 watt light, so 4 plants @ 4 ounces per plant, is about 16 ounces per light, though this is theoretical as I never ran 4 AKs under 1 light.

Since the seed run I've done well with her (clones) in soil, but only recently discovered that she really loves a mix that's 50/50 soil mix to perlite, she loves an airy rootzone, and more frequent waterings. Given enough space I know I can reach 1 gram per watt with this plant and beyond.

Overall she's a stunner, and is more impressive in real life than the images imply, she is really fat and tasty and by far the smell is her best trait: One of a kind. I must also say it's probably my favorite smoke when the sun is out, a great daytime high with an amazing flavor.

I'd love to see pics of your AK grow!!!

Here's a couple pics of the AK clone from the last round:

i should have roots in a few days and ill most likely veg her 2 wks then flip 12/12 b/c im ready to try her. the cut i have is the Cherry pheno, smells like cherry gum in flower but the flavor hasnt transferred to the smoke. thats what the person said that i got her from so well see if i can do any better.

im glad to hear about her loving an airy medium b/c im in coco using the K.I.S.S. method for nutes and i hand water 2x day. she should love it.

good results on the AK-47 scrog. i too am using a 400w but im getting ready to switch to 1000w of PL-L lights in a 4x4 tent to expierment with having multiple sources of light in a vert set up wit 2 plants.

anyway, sorry for the ramble. its Pre98 Bubba's fault.

Very cool man, I'm excited to see how she does in coco, hand-watered. I get a medium yield in soil in 2 gallon containers, but up it to 3 gallons and use guano and she fattens up considerably. Honestly man you'll do well with this plant, if it's anything like mine.

About the odor, my cut also has a cherry odor, but it's not pure cherry. I only discovered the odor recently, after an accidental over-flowering. She smells of cherry early in flowering, but the smell transforms past day 50 into something totally different but equally special, very floral and sweet and complex. Anyways, this last run I found that if i let this day 58 - 65 cut go past 72, the cherry smell comes back quite strongly. Even so that's a little long for me, as the high doesn't improve, but I really can't say enough good things about AK, in my opinion it lived up too, and even surpassed it's reputation.

i cant wait to try the smoke to see where she compares with my other girls. i like variety so i doubt she will leave my garden intentionally.

i was using soil with organic ammendments and guano & act teas but since i switched to coco i cant imaging dealing with soil due to my limited function in my hands and coco is much cleaner for me and very versatile. i can water/feed like soil every 2-3 day or feed/water multiple times a day w/o worrying about over watering. coco also flushes so quick i can feed closer to harvest (7 days) and get a clean burn.

seeing the growth rate of coco it makes moving back to soil seem like taking a huge step back for me.

ill move my AK to 12/12 next week along with my other new arrivals: NL, Double Strawberry Diesel (strawberry & sour pheno), Train Wreck and C-99 (fruity & pineapple pheno)

ill post pics when thing get interesting.
