Half A$$ CO outdoor suburbia.... Tangie, Key Lime Cake, Cheese Candy, SLH

:laughing:This is my outdoor run for 2016, and will be my third outdoor run overall. As always it could of been better and I learned a lot from the experience. Not bad for your neighbors back yard though. Strains started from seed, and they were all feminized(wanted to make sure they were girls). Grown in 10 gallon smart pots with probably only around 7-8 gallons of soil/coco medium in them. Thrown outside mid June. I had to keep smaller due to the 6ft privacy fence and nosey young neighbors(even though they can still see them lol). On the south side of the house and unfortunately only getting 7-4 hours direct sunlight during flower. One day I will get my farm and be able to grow my trees in ground...

Tangie 2 Phenos (DNA Genetics)

Super Lemon Haze (Green House Seeds)

Cheese Candy (Delicious Seeds)

Key Lime Cake (Sin City Seeds)

Strawberry Banana (Reserva Privada)

Phones dead, updating pics later ....

How worried about keeping the plants short are you? Maybe try Autos? They tend to be short and finish faster. Over on the Bay check out Afterthought Autos as they are in the IC family and also good people.

I have ran autos previously, usually only in 1-2 gal pots. Honestly wasn't really impressed with them. Thankfully I have kept them under 6 ft with about 4 main arms each. Should get at least 4 oz a plant which I couldn't do with Auto's. Then again I have never given an auto a 7 gal pot...

Cant figure out how to Insert pictures yet...

Some Key Lime Cake pics. Love this strain, it is a yielder with a interesting terpene smell. And on top of that she is super frosty! =)

looks decent for a new guy! Actually they look great to be quite honest. I have never had the privilege of running OD but the more I read about it the more I want to try it. Still got these going? What are your night temps doing? Dont leave them out to get frozen.

Appreciate it man. I have been a forum lurker for years, so now sure how new I really am lol. And yeah thankfully they still got a few more days till harvest. I did pull the Cheese Candy though. Only two frost nights. Right now its mid 40's at night, with a cold front coming up on Wednesday with low of 34 =(. My set up is real basic just using metal pole for hanging tomatos and using 6MM greenhouse sheeting over the top. Unfortunately for me the Sheeting does not go to the ground and wont completely cover everything so its hard to heat at night. It is on the side of my house where the exhaust to my dryer is... so I have ran that at night for heat. Also, run out an extension cord and small heater for the super cold nights. No temp guage, as I am lazy and lent mine to my friend who is still using it indoors ha. But I would say even with my heat supplementation it probably does not get above 50 at night.

Cheese Candy post harvest. These pics are 2 1/2 days after pull. And yeah I am doing a dry trim, don't worry that is not the finished product lol. The 4 main colas almost filled out a Nalgene bottle when first pulled...damn H20 makes em look so big. So sad after they dry =(

that looks good look at diy greenhouses you can get cheap grey pvc electrical conduit down there at lowes or hd and make the loops out of it then put your poly on top of that. How big is your sheeting?

I believe it was 20x25. When first constructed I had it smaller and everything was sealed. Fortunately, my plants out grow the space and I had to push out the walls. That way I could actually get in and water. I love the DIY PVC hoop houses. If I ever get a property of my own I am going to put a few out for vegetables and canna. Looking back I probably could of done it and made it better...damn hindsight lol. Here's a pic from the outside

Tangie #2 pheno. Plant was burned during a heavy feeding due to a misdiagnosis of a branch girdled by a grass hopper or some bug shown in the first pic.

Key Lime Cake Update

Key Lime Cake Update

Here are some updated shots. First is my Key Lime Cake. I have to say hats off to Sincity for the Freebie. Turning out to be real dense nugs with a real high calc/leaf ratio. Not only are they dense but most of the colas and upper branches have great size to them, not just a bunch of rock har gram nugs like an OG or cookies. The Cross is Lime(clone only)x White Nightmare male. It smells of an cake/cooking batter with a little hint of earthy og, then a slight smell of lime citrus smell cuts through. Hope it does after the harvest and cure as well lol.

There's your problem regarding autos....using 1-2 gallon pots. Of course they are going to yield far less!! we always recommend 3-5 gallon.

And thanks to Bombaycat for a mention.:tiphat:

However you do it, and by the pics you seem to be doing ok....LST helps with height.

Super Lemon Haze

Super Lemon Haze

Next up the Super Lemon Haze. I have to say, I was kind of disappointed with this one. While I could of done better, the only stress she suffered besides a few frost nights was one heavy feeding that burnt the end of her tips. Never eagled clawed and locked out though. Anyways this genetic has signs of TMV or Hemp Streak which I think is real discouraging. To me this means Green H could be potentially be breeding with parental stock that has the virus. And if people use their work to breed or they keep using that contaminated stock they could be destroying the cannabis genome IMO. Nice dense nugs on her. And she has them everywhere, with spacing in between each node being very small which I really like. As far as smell, not really much to mention very bland smell kind of like hash or just a rotten plant of sorts. Not what I was expecting from Lemon haze. Especially, since I gave another seed to a friend and his pheno turned out to be amazing lemon, go figure.

Strawberry Banana

Strawberry Banana

Here are some updated pics of the strawberry banana. She went out last and is in the smallest pot. Thankfully, these last couple weeks she has really beefed up. Love the look of these nugs. Mostly skunky smell with a slight hint of fruit or something sweet. Wish it turned out to be a more strawberry or banana leaning pheno, but oh well maybe next time. Not every seed can be a winner =(

Yeah I have not given up on auto's yet. I definitely believe that have their place in this world. Most of the times I put them out they were experiments early or late in the year to try and get some extra nugs lol. I have seen some great terps and good looking nugs, my yields were just always between an 1/2oz to just over an oz. Next time ill have to run them in 5gal pots and give them optimal lighting and see what comes of it. Thanks for dropping by!
