Depending on your level of smoking the whole hair thing may be metabolically driven. Many people notice an increase in metabolic activity when smoking... ie. increased appetite increased thought rate, and even pulse rate in some instances. Many hyperthyroid individuals shed hair and grow hair more rapidly. Perhaps an increased metabolic rate is making the hair turnover rate higher. Does your hair look healthier when smoking? If so, then this may be what is occuring, as the hairs die they fall out... shouldn't thin out the whole mop, but what's there should be the cream of your head and possibly exhibit quite a sheen. This seems like a stretch to me but physiologically it's a possibility. I would still lean more towards the "maybe you're just stoned" side.
