Anybody try out gushers yet? I heard it taste like blueberry candy gushers fruit snack with good upper 20s potency if grown right.

Can we stop calling cannabis candy names yet?

Yeah name sucks unless it actually does taste like the name. Unfortunately my next clone after this gushers is Runtz so there's no stop to these candy names. Guess they will go well with my zkittlez.

yeah I have one clone flowering now :)

I'll give updates pics and smoke reports as time progresses

I love cannabis, to me it is a beautiful plant, and calling Zkittles Runtz and Gushers
something different from each other, or different from
Mexican Sativa x Afghan Indica
is a little silly, and/or fun, personal taste

not all that important in my opinion. It's personal preference take your pick of brand name :tiphat: if i group or stratify gelato 33, pcg cookies, and gushers, it's still the same thing more or less right? indica hybrid, or just hybrid, closely related to all the others?

If you just grow one variety then you may have 100s of kinds of that variety

If you just grow cannabis you may have 1 kind of each variety for example

it is a unique case in each scenario, if you like gelato and have 100 plants you garden is different from
100 plants with one gelato one cbd hemp one equatorial tropical etc.

I know what you mean but sometimes, you don't have a choice.

Not a candy name, but I have a Strawberry Cough I swear to god, smelled EXACTLY like a strawberry milkshake when I was harvesting her. And not a slight "kinda smells like" either. Strong and exactly.

Things like Strawberry Cough or Chocolate or Pineapple Thai make sense and the smell and/or flavor is why they get those names.

Skittles or Runtz or Snickers (coming soon I bet) might taste and smell like those candy brands. I've viewed it as mostly marketing personally. There's something a little unnerving about naming our treasured plant after corporate candy names. For instance it's Strawberry Cough not Driscoll's cough and Chocolate Thai not Hershey's...or whatever variant of spelling must be used to escape lawsuit.

I know my Zkittlez taste and smells exactly like yellow skittles. No other name would fit it. Im not sure what gushers will end up like but if it does taste like gushers fruit snacks then gushers is perfect name. I do hate when a strain gets named something and has zero terps like its named. Cali right now is all about the exotic fruit flavors and this marketing seems to be coming from the Cookie family mainly.

one of the smells my tangerine jillybean puts off is like a combination of orange and grape skittles

Some of the candy cultivars aren't as sweet as I would expect, seems like the Gushers lineage isn't very sweet or fruity. Runtz has more gas and funk than expected with a bit of sweet fruit. Here is a photo of some Runtz, turned out great, powerful aroma and taste.

That runtz is nice, I will source that cut one day. I've gotten some several times just can't find the cut. Haven't seen any threads or grows on it yet either.

I found a nice runtz cut and made sure to hit it with some pollen. The male I used is sweet and fruity with strong strawberry notes, so I think the cross will enhance the aroma and flavor of the runtz. Runtz cuts have been floating around NorCal the last year or so, runtz just won the Emerald Cup.

I'm sure it will make its rounds eventually. Good smoke I would put it in my garden for sure.

Have you smoked gushers thats grown right not from dispensory?

no, have you? I imagine the cross of Gelato and Triangle Kush is potent and it may have some hints of sweet and fruit, but probably mostly gas and skunk funk. On the topic of candy, I have more experience with Zkittlez and Runtz. Just tried some Banana Taffe, it actually reminded me of an artificial banana flavor.

There is often some gas, earthy funk in Gelato strains and Gushers' other parent, Triangle Kush, according to multiple searches is "This bud has a spicy lemon citrus flavor with a notable woody aftertaste. The aroma is very spicy and earthy with a lemony fuel overtone that’s very pungent." I understand it is possible to have a very sweet fruity pheno of those parents, it just doesn't seem likely it would be extremely sweet similar to that mysterious fruit goo in the candy. https://www.allbud.com/marijuana-strains/indica-dominant-hybrid/triangle-kush

No i havent got to check her out yet but i have a clone of her now. The CCC guys on youtube said it taste like a blue raspberry blow pop. Ive watched those two goof balls for years. They are right in the thick of things when it comes to Cali' s popular strains. Cookie fam breed her and Berner says he picked the phenos out on a video he posted on YouTube.

Start at 5:00 for flavor review https://youtu.be/FzjWuQ_MvYw
