Guitar Hero III!!!

Does anyone else have this game? It is f*****g awsome!! I have never had so much fun with a video game. If you have ever had the slightest desire to be a rock star you will love this. Its not exactly easy and requires alot of concentration but when you get the hang of it, well, it ROCKS!

if you want to try something really cool, try a real guitar, with an effects processor.

I dunno, I tried Guitar Hero in EB and well uh, it wasn't much like playing guitar you know and I almost expected it to be. It does teach you timing I guess, but it's too bad it's just 5 little buttons for all the notes. I think the whole thing could be like an IR sensor and you could actually be learning the right hand positions at least.

A lot of what turns people away from playing a real guitar is how hard it is at first to hold down the strings. A cooler guitar/gamepad would make it so much closer to player guitar than flipping than switch up and down while pressing 5 buttons.

It's still a cool game idea, but I don't see what the big deal is. I guess it's all about pretending to be a rockstar, but you know in some cases those songs aren't had to play in the first place. Being a rocksar doesn't really have much to do with being a good guitar player.

I'd like GTA rockstar edition you know. Ride around in your pimped out SUV hooking up, avoiding the cops, making it to the record studio without get shot down. haha well I like GTA like, urban simulation style games where you free roam and just interact with everything, steal cars, pick up prostitutes, just seems like there is a lot more potential there left untapped in games like that.

Guitar hero needs like a pro guitar version then it might be a lot of fun so you could actually like play a song with it maybe and do the competition stuff, but make it easy enough for anybody. I didn't find much of my guitar playing skills to be very useful when applied guitar hero style, so I guess that's my complain, not really in a nutshell, but perhaps more like a bag of mixed nuts. If that makes sense.. ha

Is Guitar Hero that good? I saw the demo at Best Buy and it looked gimmicky - sort of like Parappa the Rappa (cool game btw) with a guitar. I'd rather do DDR and lose some weight.

i played Guitar Hero 2 last Christmas against my bro-in-law, it was fun at the time and well suited for that sort of gettogether but I think i'd get bored of it pretty quickly!
Think i'll stick to my real axes :smile:

I had Guitar Hero 2 but when my room mate left, he took his PS2 with him. I bought a 360 so now I'm just saving up so that I can buy GH3. I really like the game, though. Great idea. I've also been playing guitar for about six years or so now. I see no competition or rivalry between GH and the real guitar. I enjoy both of them. It's a great game to have around if you're bored or if you have friends over and want to get everyone involved (though Rock Band will most likely be best suited for that with its 4-player mode.)

Not all of us play REAL guitar so this offers an experience that you wouldn't necessarily be able to have.

Nokuy, not only do you get to battle Tom Morello you get to play along with him in the game. Some of the best stuff.

Also, have you seen Rock Band? It not only gives you a guitar but a bass, a drum set and a microphone for 4 people to play together.

Not all of us have a ****ing Playstation either

but yeah whereas real guitar is always going to be more fun to play on your own, Guitar Hero is more fun to play with friends/at parties kinda thing - it's like a game version of the guitar, not made to be taken seriously but just made for fun, and having played it at Christmas I can say it does a good job of that :smile:

my younger nephew has got just about every game unit ever made in this house, but I'm just not into them. The game's I've played the most are GT3, The Sims, and some snowboarding game. I've play Guitar Hero 1 and 2, but my older nephew moved out and took the game and guitars with him.

I guess it's cheaper than buying the CD's or paying 99 cents a song for MP3, and you get to fool around while listening to music. It's not a bad game.

They also have a nasty surround-sound.
No amount of Public Enemy can drown out the noises coming from under my living room floor.
I gave up trying and tromped down there with my bong and a Wachusett Blueberry Ale.

yeah.. i think the guitar guys think its supposed to be a electronic version of a guitar and there dissapointed when they find its a rhythm game set with the background of being a rockstar.

yeah its def not as cool as being the guy who can go jam out and everyone at a party wants to sing along and listen.

but I've spent a very long time learning guitar and honestly I suck.. I have no ear , couldn't knock shave and a hair cut two bits right, and can't carry a tune.

but I can play video games like a champ and love busting some air guitar from time to time. so with that said Im' buying gh3 and gB pronto
