Shared an indoor and outdoor grow op with someone almost 15 years ago....Worked out fine until I started doing most of the work and just said fuck it and bought the guy out and we both went our separate ways.
We didn't see each other for almost a decade until I ran into him at a grocery store about two months ago. In plain view and earshot of everyone he starts telling me about his latest grow, and all this other shit that is still highly illegal in the state we live in. Frankly, I was stunned that someone could be either that stupid, or could care so little. I ended the conversation by just walking away.
Hoping that was just a random encounter that wouldn't happen again, I quickly forgot about it. Not so fast. Last week I was out at a bar hanging with some friends, most of whom are non-pot smokers when this guy walks in and starts telling anyone and everyone about his current exploits with regards to indoor grow he has going on...He knew none of these people.
Thats not all.....I saw him yet again in another public area earlier tonight, and got some sob story about how his landlord needs to come into his rental to fix some electrical issues. A process that will take at least a week...Guy has the nerve to ask me (again this is in public) if he can come over and set up his 2k indoor lighting system in my house and move all 30 of his flowering plants over to my place to finish up until his house is squared away.
To be honest the amount of carelessness that this guy exhibits is just frightening. Also, this is all in a non-med state that has some rather stiff penalties.
Some lessons to be learned here:
1) Don't ever, ever partner up with someone...
2) Growers, some of you out there need to keep your mouths shut.
3) Be independent and have contingency plans in place and be prepared to start over. Asking someone to watch your 30 plants that are in flowering is an awfully big imposition.
I no longer grow, but I've always been independent when it comes to growing..There have been times where I've had to scrap an entire grow that is 3 weeks from finish due to some type of security issue of one sort or another.
