Guerrilla grow using burlap sacks. Anybody done this?

I read once that a guy did a grow by filling up burlap sacks with premium soil, laying them on their side, cut a hole in the burlap planted seed, watered and came back in a month to big healthy plants. I am going to try this with some autos. My thinking is that the burlap will allow good airflow, soak up morning dew and prevent root lock because the roots will grow right through the burlap. Any old-timers out there that may have done this before? Sounds like a good way to grow autos outdoors. Any opinions?

You might as well just skip the burlap and just make mounds and mulch them. I really don't think with that little soil that the burlap will add much aeration. Especially if you plan on letting the roots grow down into the native soil. The burlap material is organic and will break down quick too.

But to answer your question that will work and the roots will grow through it. I've put 2 yard totes on their side and the roots grew through that material which is a lot tighter and tougher than burlap
