Might be helpful for someone with several tom hill size tree's but realistically most wont have a use for it, considering all this does is slowly release 15 gallons of water over a span of 5 hours.

Now if there was something similar that could release x gallons of water per day for x amount of days without electricity then that would be extremely useful. Any ideas?

Yep! You could do 1 of 2 things:

Collect rain water with a tarp in which you collect in your reservoir(s)

or

Buy a portable water pump (more expensive route) like the Honda WX-10 and pump water from a near by source to your reservoir(s)

The tarp is less expensive but offers less security when it comes to being seen. What you could do is go out when its raining come beginning of the season and see where the trees dispell water the most at... it's funny sometimes you can literally find spouts that work out perfectly from the foliage. These collect water 3x as fast as laying the tarp out somewhere random with normal amounts of rainfall. To up security, go out before big storms to set the collection tarp up and take it back down after the rain stops to avoid being seen from above. I would still put it under many trees and have it be forest green or camo since anything unnatural sticks out like a sore thumb from the air. From there tie the tent off to nearby trees at a slight angle, then tie down the middle of the edge of the tarp to the ground to create your "spout" into your first garbage can/tote. From here you can do whatever you want, if you need more than 50 gallons at a time then install a double spout on the bottom of your first res and link that to two more reservoirs. It's all about gravity though since we're not working with electricity, so finding a subtle slope is key here. It's all about location really. Hook up a battery powered hose timer to release the valve to water your girls however many times a week you wish, depending on rainfall and temps of course. Backcountry has a GREAT thread on this using backyard hoses and some simple connector valves, check it out if you want an in-depth how-to on this method:

^ I believe he touches on the Honda pump method in that thread as well
