I live in the US in a place taht doesnt have any kinds of guano . . . I was wondering if anyone knew a good site for getting quality guanos, different types . . i wanted plagron but taht isnt happening . . . Also if they have reccomendations for guanos and other organic nutrients would be accepted. . . i like to put wats needed into the soil and let the plants work with it, and try my best not to give them any extra nutrients than wats in the soil. . . I do need guano and i am relatively interested in liquid fertilizers and boosters.. thanks everyone =)

peace and love

Got Guano?

Got Guano?

Guano (gwä-no ) is the name given to the collected droppings of seabirds and bats.
It is highly prized as an effective fertilizer due to its generally high levels of phosphorus and nitrogen and its many trace elements...
The analysis will vary with the age of the guano.
It has natural fungicidal qualities and has almost no chance of being contaminated with pesticides or chemicals.

Among farmers, bird excrement is well known for dramatically increasing crop production.

Guano consists of ammonia, along with uric, phosphoric, oxalic, and carbonic acids, as well as some earth salts and impurities.

The ideal type of guano is found where there is little rainfall and exceptionally dry climates, as the rainwater drains the guano of nitrates.

Seabird Guano is harvested on various islands in the Pacific (for example the Chincha Islands and Nauru) and also in other oceans.
These islands have been home to mass seabird colonies for many centuries, and the guano has collected to a depth of many metres.

Guano has been harvested over several centuries along the coast of Peru, where islands and rocky shores have been sheltered from humans and predators...
The Guanay cormorant has historically been the most important producer of guano; its guano also tends to be more rich in nitrogen than guano from other seabirds. Other important guano producing species off the coast of Peru are the Peruvian Pelican and the Peruvian booby.

Bat guano is usually mined in caves around the world.

Peaceful Valley mail order Farm Supply has a nice selection of small quantity boxes on up to very large sacks of seabird and bat guanos available. (40 -55 pound sizes)...

Pre-blended products such as Super Tea and Budswel are very popular products that are real no-brainers as far as use goes.
Usually used as a supplement but many use as a stand alone. (excellent results and underhyped to be sure, a bit of molassess and stand back.. :) )
Be sure to add a splash of Liquid Seakelp Extract for good measure in the seedling / vegetative stages and impressive things can result.

Happy Growing :)
