Guano

Im going all over the place on this next grow. Doing a little bit of organic soil, coco, and dwc.

I have a couple questions regarding growing in soil organically.

I have got a lot of Budswel and SuperTea dry. Also I have a couple bags of Ocean Forrest. I was going to brew the teas with a air pump. Would they go through def. or lots of problems if they were just to be fed guano. or do i need to add another fert to them. i could add some maxi crop or kelp etc. but i love my guanos and wont be changing them. any recommendations on other things to add to the mix to try and get them going smoothly would be great.

I have 4 bags of OF and will probably add 2 bags of FF Organic Planting Mix with some FF perlite. they should be fine in veg for a couple weeks then hit them with the tea a couple times. switch over to flower. and hit them with the tea for a couple of weeks and give them a two week flush.

as for coco and dwc. ive got those handled. just needed some help with the organics. thanks in advanced.

I was also going to buy some micro nutrients but i figured soil growers rarely, if ever experience true deficiencies in micro nutrients,to the point that you would need to supplement micros. Most of the time when a grower see's a micro nutrient deficiency it is because the pH has gotten out of whack.

PhishHead-
First off, we don't use the pH word in here. It's simply not a big factor in organics. Your soil mix will take care of any pH issues you have almost instantly. Use more worm castings and perlite in your Ocean Forest. And add powdered dolomite lime to that at 2 tbs./gal. of final mix. All your trace elements and micro/macro nutes will be supplied by the kelp/seaweed.
Making a tea from guano is the best way to feed IMO. What is the N-P-K on your guano? Do you see any directions on the package? I always suggest you use as directed on the label.

You're right. FFOF does need more goodies. As I posted above, more worm castings or compost, more perlite and more dolomite are crucial to a great grow. Leaving chlorinated water in an open 5 gallon bucket overnight will get rid of the chlorine. Don't put anything organic into chlorinated water or it will kill the bacteria.

I have posted a supplemented version of OF in the first pages of the OFC. I used it all last year and had good results with the modified version. The OF seems to run out of nutrients around 3-4 weeks. If you veg your palnts long it will not last to flower in and it leaves you guessing what it is lacking.

I have 6 bags of FFOF and 2 bags of FF Planting Mix. I am going to add some more FF chunky perlite and 4.5 lb bag of wiggle worm. That will be for them in beer cups and then into 5.5 sq pots. They will be transplanted into 2 gal sq pots when needed with 2 tbs/gal of dolomite lime. If necessary I also have 5 gallon pots for them.

the SuperTea is 5-5-1(mix three tbsps. per gallon of water)
Budswel 0-7-0(2-3 tbsps. per gallon of water)
Ill probably on start off with 1/4 or so and see how they like it. I am going to start low with the supertea as it has seabird guano in it.

I have Maxicrop Liquefied Seaweed and Espoma Kelp Meal available, As well as a wormsway which has a nice selection as well.

thanks for the help fellas

I'd use the 5-5-1 with the maxicrop as directed after two to three weeks from sprouting intil after the two week stretch of 12/12. Then use both the 5-5-1 and the 0-7-0 together as directed until the last four weeks of flowering. Then use the 0-7-0 until harvest.
And put the dolomite lime into all your soil.

 did I hear guano.... :joint:

1st 3 weeks I use Mexican guano 10-2-1,
next 4 weeks of transition switches to Peruvian Seabird guano 10-10-2
next 3 weeks of flower switches to Jamaican guano 1-10-.2
last 2 weeks switches to Indonesian guano .5-12-.2
Then clear flush the last week before chop.

Wormsway guano kit - 30 bux for kit of 4 bags - prep tea a day or two before using. Sold on the Sunleaves.com site - stealth warning - shipped with guano labels. Can also use by topping and watering, but I prefer the tea batches mixed up fresh each use, rarely does it sit long enough to be aerated, daily agitation should be enough until it is used.

I do find that a thorough flush is beneficial in late veg before flipping.

Cheers & happy growing,
ECSD chopped at 98 days -

very nice. i might have to invest in that guano kit. that ecsd looks killer. Ive recently switched over to hidhut instead of WW and other internet sites. he has great deals and packages in plain boxes himself. he also can help with any of your needs and can get anything not on his site. good people over there, definitaly will treat you right. thanks for the tips guys, i got some bunch of nice quality seeds this week along with a nice stock of Rez seeds from a fellow Ic'er so im going to start planting probably next week sometime. should be a fun show.

sounds like one toke over has got it right, i love the bat shit . ive tried budswel this run and love the bud size but found it lacking in nit. so hit them with a little tiger to green them back up. the budswel really cut down the streatch. i think if you follow one tokes formula you will be happy.
