Wow first post in 4 ever. One is not really preferred per say over the other they merely have different NPKs and say Seabird and Mexican are usually higher in N and better for veg and Indo and Jamaican are gonna be higher in P and better for flowering. As far as preference I always found the Indo to have the highest P rating with the lowest amount of N and coming from fruit eating bats was awesome.Although they ALL are great organic ferts and sources of fungi.Good luck!!

i know it works ive used it numerous times it really gets your buds frosty

Ok...which is it...you have or haven't used it correctly ??

Guanos work quick man....mixed in the soil or as a tea. Either way they work fast and could easily burn or throw the pH off if not used in moderation.

As stated before

...Mexican Bat Guano is for veggin or a good dose for greening up the plant a bit. It comes with an NPK of 10-2-1 and usually used at 1 to 3 tablespoons per gallon of water.

Jamaican Bat Guano is good for the flowering stage of the plant with an NPK of 1-10-0.2 and usually used the same at 1 to 3 tablespoon per gallon of water.

Indonesian Bat Guano is the highest phosphorus rated guano (from Sunleaves anyway) and is great for budding and provides an NPK of 0.5-12-0.2. The same dosage can be made either into the soil or in a tea at 1 to 3 tablespoons per gallon of water.

Peruvian Seabird comes in an NPK of 10-10-2 giving you an equal boost of Nitrogen and Phosphorus and a touch of Potassium. Good for every stage of growth if needed. Same dosage of 1 to 3 tablespoons per gallon of water.

In my humble opinion; BETTER is what you choose to be better. I use Sunleaves because of the name only and it's available. There are many other companies that make and sell Guanos tho' :rasta:

I always use indo bat guano a few times during flower (gonna use it today actually) ....

I know it works really really well!

I usually just throw it in my water and bubble it for 24+ hrs w/ my nutes

im gonna top dress w/ it today (at 25 days) and prolly wont use it again during this grow.

it helps more than I can even explain.

Guanos also vary in their texture. That is, some are from fossilized deposits (Indo) while others are harvested fresh (jam, mex). Fresh harvests are generally more soluble, while fossilized will take microbial action to decompose before they come on line. You can tell by the feel of them, fossilized guano feels more like sand or gravel while fresh will be brown and slightly spongy.

Indonesian bat guano should be mixed into soil ahead of time to allow it time to break down. Jam. and mexican need less time in the mix to have an effect, and work well as a top dress or tea additive. This is just an example of how different textured guanos can be used differently.

Seabird guanos are some of the best since they are ecologically friendly. Most of these are scraped off of the rocks of tiny islands where birds roost year round. No harm comes to the rocks or the birds. Other guanos are mined from caves which disturbs fragile ecosystems.

A great brand of guano is Budswell. Its very expensive but truly top quality. Guano Kalong is another fine brand, but only avail. in Europe I think. Budswell has an 0-7-0 product that gives great results during flowering, and several others more suited to veg and general use. Hope some of this helps. Great discussion guys, gotta love bat poo!

I was going to use Mocha Bat Guano (4-12-1)this run during flower. I had been using fox farms guano and casting in a jug but my plants seemed to be turning yellow at four weeks. I was hoping that the pretty ladies will hold their green a little longer, till at least week six. I bubble my guano (3 tbs/gal.) and a big handful of worm casting in a five gallon bucket with some molases. i use metanaturals 3-3-3 and 1-5-5 w/ maxicrop seaweed every other feeding. I hope switching guanos fixes my yellowing problem.
