I don't think you want to be moving them around that much ...seeing that bag is just built to upset roots,,....how did you get that pic to grow like that? ...under a HPS?
Note the tall stretched stem and tiny leaves typical of a plant grown under red light ...the opposite is true of growers who grow only under cool white or light in the 6500 kelvin range ...I want that pic for my collection here ..take my Ferrari ...lol
note: use a balanced cfl (4000k ?)for the next grow its important that the internodes are evengly spaced for correct disbursion of the yield.. as ..
More blue- shorter with tight inter-nodes
More red- taller with longer inter-nodes your could be a liitle to apart ...but may correct as yet
Honestly, I'm a bit confused as to how your plants are 88 days old. I'm relatively (a few years) new to growing, so incase I'm wrong, you should wait for confirmation a more experienced grower.
With that said, I sounds like you've caused significant stunting with all the pruning. I don't usually prune (other than removing dead leaves) until week 3 of flower. The smaller the plant, the less pruning it can handle. And never remove the light green (not yellow) developing leaves. Those have yet to reach their photosynthetic peak. The larger, dark green leaves, are the ones that are becoming less efficient. Once again though, every time you prune, you're exposing your plant to diseases, bacteria, overall stress, and thus there is an increase in overall stress. Also, if you absolutely have to take off a developing fan leaf, cut halfway between the node and the leaf's stem (the plant will take care of the rest).
This is the only thing I can think of that would be keeping your plant this short. My current garden is about as old as yours, I've got all indica's going, and if I didn't use LST to keep them short (16 inches tall right now with 18-25 heads), they'd each be at least 3 feet tall.
Oh and the last thing I'll mention is that HPS should definitely not be your first choice for vegging. Most HPS bulbs don't provide nearly enough blue light, for vegging. Next time use either MH, CFL, or even LED.
Definitely provide a few more details, so that hopefully a more experienced grower can be more insightful. Some useful things to provide might be, type of nutrients, temperature range of your grow room, whether or not you're using CO2, how many watts your light is, and what strains you're growing.
Another week has passed, my girls are bushing out nicely I think
It looks as if most of the stretch so far has been horizontal. I'm happy bout that, since my plan is to grow them as short and bushy as possible.
btw. My plants are Grapefruit Kush I grow these in soil, with tapwater and bog standard nutrients (N14-P4-K21) at half strength and their sun is 2 X 125w HPS
