Growth Stages! I have need to know please.

Hello Everyone,

My question is this. As I understand growth stages go like this, we have germination. Then we have sprout. Then we have the veg stage, and then flower on to harvest. If I missed something please tell me what it is. Now to the question... What is the time frame from sprout to veg, meaning what is the determining factors that you would consider your sprouts are officially in veg mode? I have been going by the the third set of true leaves. Is this a good marker? All and any help greatly appreciated. Thx. :tiphat:

I'd consider the veg phase the phase of rapid growth usually starting with the first set of multi-blade leaves (usually 3 blades for me but I don't know if this varies).
Many charts include early and late veg, transition, early and late flower, and ripening. For feeding purposes it's helpful to note, but otherwise I consider two phases. Veg and flower.

I count my veg time from when the cotyledons open up, but i don't really consider my plants to make the transition from "seedling" to "vegetating" until they start branching off at their nodes. This can take anywhere from a week to a month depending on the plant's growing conditions

I agree with this 100%

Hello again Folks,

Let's go with the branching scenario up to a month...( variety dependent I understand ), Would you still want to veg for 2 months? Or until you see pre-flowers in veg? Or until you get your training finished? Thanks for your patience, trying to get it here. Thx.

Training and everything all matter based on what you intend to do. How many lights, what footprint size, medium, and everything else. Imho the veg is the setup for flowering. If you set yourself up right youre golden.

Mr Crooked8,

I have a much clearer understanding now. The veg/setup being every bit as important as the flowering. I have chosen a direction, so a big thanks for the help!
