Grown in small pots?

By being patient, growing the seeds for about 2 or so months, and taking 2 clones of each, you can flower the females (if you can tell by preflowers) and figure out which are your best moms. Then, you can take more clones of the best one, and know you aren't wasting time, space, energy, etc on something that isn't worth it. For beginners, I find that growing slightly bigger plants in a larger pot is easier, but if you want to be a trial by fire type, go for it. One gallon pots are the smallest size I would recommend, though. Peace...

I would have to say that the size of pot is dependant on the amount of light and space constraints as well as ease of growing.

I myself grow in two gallon pots and am looking for a bigger pot with better utilization of my space and grow height. As well as ease of growing (which for me is keeping the plant/pot small enough me a man in a wheelchair to move about.) which was easier when I was younger.

You will have small yields, plain and simple.

I grow in 1 gallon pots and yield about a oz a plant at least.
I veg them until they are 18 inches tall.

What would the effect be if I grew in small pots, and flowered after like 2 weeks from seed?

how small we talking.....I agree with most everyone about lower yields after only two weeks from seed....I did a thread turning some kush after 2 weeks, and I get at least an ounce per plant and use 1 gallon pots and have an 85% female ratio average from seed.....looking back would have been better waiting another 2 weeks in veg.....I think it really depends on the grower and setup.....got to use what works for you...not always what works for others.IMHO i wouldnt go smaller than a gallon pot in soil.....oh and I think it's the enviroment that helps males......not the lack of veg time???????

Clones can be veg for 1 or 2 weeks since they are the same age as the mom, but you should go 3 or 4 weeks min. from seed. If height is a prob. then top the plants in veg.

You'll regret it.
A mature plant produces the best growth and yields, the larger the root zone the larger the yield.
A SOGreen methos is also a viable option but not with seedlings, clones from a mature female plant react differently when flowered early then seedlings.
SOG can pe a pain in itself as you have alot of containers (and thus plants so your taking a higher risk), alot of seeds/clones needed and potentialially a rootbound and overgrown garden when applied to an unknow strain in a new setup.
It's possible but growing is work, fun work but ya gotta have the time and working for nothng is a pissoff.
Rest assured if you are trying to veg them early because you have a limited time to flower and finish them off you are working for nothing if the veg time window is 2 weeks from seed....

Dank vapor, like everyone else has said..the most recognizable difference flowering them so early will be the yield. But im on to alwayz say... u do what u can do. If you have time restraints to where u will have to flower them this early, by all means... do it. Its better to have something rather then nothing, even if it isn't as much as it normally would be. But, if u are just fiending for some bud, so u want to flower them and harvest asap...i would def say wait! them extra few weeks vegging before flipping to 12/12 will be very noticeable and u'll pat yourself on the back when u have double the amount of bud as u would have originally. Do what works for u, and good luck! -Opt

Im not really trying to go big, I mean hell, I only got a 250w HPS. I knew what I was going to be getting somewhat, but If I wanted hps and lbs Id go and grab a 600 or 1kw. Yeild isnt my concern, my concern is will the plants be UNNESSECERILY stressed and get all sick and die because of this?

I am hoping that I can grow some mini dank trees, healthy but small. Right now, I am thinking 4 plants, in these 32oz containers, and flowered about 8-10 days after seed, I know its stretching it but Ive seen it done on OG and hell its only bagseed this time around. Might as well give it ago.

If i really fuck up and figure its worthless for me the noob to try things this way, Ill stick it back in my closet, and go grab 8 3gallon pots and do it the right way.

Trying to get 3-4 ounces total.

How long would I possibly be able to veg for? My cab is 55"W - 45"H - 35"D. Im not working with alot of space with my light in this cab. Which is why I thought of doing it like this. Nice wattage for small cab + Lil containers = Lil trees, (have been known to yeild big but not often)

At the very least, use a 2 gallon (8 liter) pot. 32 oz cup won't be enough space for the root system to last until maturity, IMO. Just my :2cents:

Dank You must veg for at least 3 weeks from seed! Go buy at least 1gal. buckets for a buck each at Ace hardware( make sure to dill pleanty of holes)any smaller than 1 gal. you will end up with peanut size buds hardly worth your time. :bat: Veg 2 weeks from seed then Top & veg 2 more weeks, by topping height will be ok as long as bag seed is indica. Go with big pots and less plants you will get more buds in the end. If you veg for 8 days all you are doing is allowing the plant to veg under 12Hrs instead of 18 to 24hrs because the plant is not mature enough to sex. IT's Like trying to have sex at 8 or 9 years old doesn't work LOL :pointlaug :bigeye: :smoweed:

You can flower early if you like, but they will still need to be a certain age before they will show sex. You can flower at one week and have them take 3 weeks to show sex, or veg for a month and have them take a week. As for the size of the pots, the quart size is not going to cut it for root space. I like to believe no less then 3 gallons for flowering, but I suppose you could try 2. If you are cramping the roots, you are also cramping the plant............
