Growing without nutes

I was wondering if it is possible to pull off a succesful grow without nutrients. This is my first grow (in which nothing has gone wrong) and Im thinking of skippin the nutes since my plants look ok, other than the normal yellowing & falling leaves from flowering. How will me making this choice affect the final outcome as far as overall yield, potency, etc. Any good input is appreciated.

Hey higher power. You do need food for your plants to feed on (imagine if you didnt eat for 3 months or longer!!) If your've seen career meth heads this is what happens when u dont eat or drink for months or years on end lol. You dont want your plants ending up like a cracked out waster!!

Your plants may get through veggin ok with little to no feeding but deficincies will soon arise into flowering if there is no food in your soil for the plants to feed on.

However, there is an easy method of getting past weekly feedings, which i assume is what your trying to avoid, which i will share with you.

This the only method of growing where i have real experience with, and can hopefully help you out here.

Ok, so what im talking about is starting with a rich organic soil, and then adding all the nutrients your plant will need to see it through to a successful harvest AT THE BEGINNING.

So here goes; im starting with rooted clones ready to be transplanted and start vegging.

I start with a local organic peat moss based soil mix that contains perlite, vermiculite and worm castings.

To this mix for each plant (i think my grow bags are like 3 or 4 gallons) i add:

1 teaspoon of rootblast
1 teaspoon of Osmocote 3 month slow release all round fertiliser
1 teaspoon of neem powder
1 cup of dolomite lime

THAT IS IT!!

The clones are transplanted into this mix and vegged away for however long you want. Then after ive flicked to 12/12, 2 weeks into flowering i feed them once with a bat guano and kelp mix. This takes them right through to harvest.

All i have to do is water them absolutely no feeding except the onetime i mentioned. U could even add the guano into the mix at start so to avoid any feeding.

Occasionally i will add a sprinkle of dolomite lime and/or epsom salts in the mix around the middle of flowering if any deficiencies show up usually this is not the case.

This method under 1200w is good for 3.5lb per harvest of prime quality organic bud.

Forget about weekly feedings bro this is the way to go; check out other organic threads from growers who know far more than me in this area.

This post was just to say no your plants do need food but there is easy and hard ways it can be done!!

Peace

Peace Blazedbro. That is just the advice that I am looking for. I will most definitely look into that method. At the moment I have no nutes at all. My buds look good to me, so I wasn't even going to use nutes. I have been looking into something that really caught my attention, its called sonic bloom. It uses a combination of sound & is 100% organic.

Hey bro how far into flowering are your plants now?

Your soil mix will have been fortified with a stable base of nutrients that will usually get the plant through its first month or so of growth. What i mean is even though you havent fed your plants anything there is already nutrients that come in the soil thats why they have got by with no feeding so far, im sure you probably know this anyway but worth repeating imo.

If they are budding out and looking healthy awesome!! If they start showing signs of deficincies then definitely look into some flowering formulas. Organic is the only way to go in my book, it tastes better and is better for you, no nasty chemicals!!

Good luck bro

Thanks Blazedbro. That is a great solution you gave me if I encounter any problems. I think I will keep it this way for now. My oldest plant is a g13 purple lady. She is 6 1/2 weeks into flowering. I did an accidental staggered harvest, & my plants are at different stages into flowering. Thanks again for the help & well wishes.

Absolutely keep it the way it is if all is going great!!

If your that far into flowering and everythings healthy i would say your soil must have been quite rich to start with. This is great news i would keep with it based on your great results so far.

Enjoy the harvest bro, and make sure you dry and cure your buds properly as the difference in taste and quality is simply staggering if done properly!!

There are a million great posts on here about that 2 so no need for any details.

Cool man
Take it easy
