Growing under a 10 plant limit

The laws make no distinction between imatuure or mature plants; male or female. Plant = roots + stem + leaves.
This is a real P.I.T.A. for me because ideally I would have 10 females. I refuse to get feminized. I need plants that are the least likely to herm out because I reveg and hope to grow some monsters. I have 2 grow boxes so my limiting factors are: grow area, heat, and this 10 plant maximum.
I've got both boxes on veg going 24/0 right now so heat is at a max. I live in an apartment and can't do much in the way of creative ventilation and still claim that my growboxes are just a "special air filter" (I have asthma and allergies). Besides, I just had to swap a couple 42 watt CFLs for a 10 and a 13 because I think I may have been burning the leaves with too much light.
Any ideas guys and gals?
These limitations are really forcing me to maximize everything: light efficiency, reflectivity. By the way, I grow in soil and don't want to go hydro.

It depends on what you're final goal is. Do you want to try a bunch of different strains? Do you just want to get a good harvest out of it?

I'm in a similar situation, and I've got 9 plants going right now, I plan on taking out the males in the next few weeks. To do that I'm going to top all the plants, and then put the tops into a glass of water under 12/12 until they show sex. I'll then get rid of any male plants that are still vegging, and continue vegging with the females. Here's my situation, and what I plan on doing soon.

One plant 27 days old, five plants 24 days old, three seeds germinating.

I'm going to take clones from the six grown plants and put those in some water under 12/12. When I figure out what is male and what is female I'm going to trash any male plants I've got in veg. I won't be able to flower for a while, so they'll just stay in veg. What I would do if I could flower, is veg them for a few more weeks, so I can get four to six clones from each. Depending on how many females I ended up with, I'd keep the best cuts from each plant, keeping my plant count below 10.

I'm not really worried about plant numbers right now and might go a couple over, but you should get the drift.

a mature plant is anything over 1' tall, or 1' wide in the state of washington and cali

What state are you in?

Here is a summary of the "How Many Plants Can A Patient Grow?" section of the NORML State of California and US Federal Marijuana Laws guidebook...

The national medical marijuana prescription standard, established by the Naional Institute on Drug Abuse, is about a half-pound per month or 2 ounces per week per patient. To cultivate that amount of buds requires a large amount of plants.

...SB420 sets a per patient guideline of 6 mature or 12 immature plants and 8 ounces of dried, processed medical marijuana. These are "safe harbor" or threshold amounts, not a ceiling.

The doctor's rec. of the patient's medical condition and needs determines the maount of marijuana a patiend and/or his caregiver may need to cultivate and possess in order to adequately provide for the patient.

So the law is subjective. Try getting your doc to write you a recommendation for more plants. You could also try to get caregiver status for another user. Theoretically, there is no limit to the number of plants a caregiver can grow for legit patients, as long as you adhere to the 6 plant "guideline."

I have 10 plants flowering right now but my cab is so small that I seriously doubt I will ever be charged of exceeding the recommended dosage of a half-pound per month. :smoke:

right now i am running 3 of my mothers, flowering them that is, since i am moving and cannot transport them, and wanna start over anyway. anyhow i have all three in one large ass Tupperware with a whole bail of promix, and i have the branches tied every which way. i may post some pics but never feel comfortable doing so.....i would think if it is all in one large thing of soil it may be considered one plant? to a ceartin extents, but i have scene articles about med. growers who do huge ass trees to maximize production within legal limits. that would be my advice, veg for like 4 months then tie down the branches....

First, my state has no medical marijuana so I am a fellon (I don't need to sell (I don't need the money), I don't want to sell, my only goal is self-sufficiency). I'm not telling which state I live in because I am paranoid. The 10 plant limit has to do with the harshness of the sentencing should I get cought and prosecuted for what I do in the privacy of my bedroom.

Vermonmonster: yeah that is what I do: train, extended veg, and reveg.

The law is pretty clear about what is a plant: roots, stem, and leaves.

Now the problem lies in growing out little sprouts and getting a coin flip for sex. I'm leaving breeding to the breeders for now. I'd love to breed LR2s, but That will require a special box with special air filters and ventilation and isolation chambers for a choice male of each strain. I refuse to grow "feminized".

I have the capacity to grow 4 plants in 3 gallon buckets or ten plants in smaller square pots. I really like the 3 gallon bucket monsters. I like to rotate them for inspection, grooming, and light exposure. I will soon have one more lamp than I have growboxes, (there is one simple solution to that problem: build another grow box:) but the next one will take time and money, but I could set it up with male isolation chambers (more time and money and work). For me, the only reason to breed would be autoflowers. I'd like to do autoflowers outdoors, but that is just a pipe dream. I hope to reach self-sufficiency soon with the 2 boxes I have.

Math problem: I have 4 females. I reveg with 100% success. I now have 6 sprouts. One is 4 weeks but small for it's age due to beginning life under 12/12. 2 others are 1 week old and 3 more just sprouted. Dissregard the age difference of the sprouts. Assume 8 weeks for comfirmed sex and a coin flip for gender. Assume an endless supply of regular seeds from professional breeders. Once plant is confirmed as male, I cull it. Now, how long until I have a 95% chance of having 10 females? Well, it could take a year or more by rough guestimate. Simplest solution: grow 4 monsters and keep the rest as bonsais.

I also want some variety. I need at lest 2 Satori monsters for my medical needs (endrogenous major depression). I have 2 bagseed monsters. While I don't like the high (short indica is all I can say; it branches profusely), I intend to turn the better of those 2 into a bonsai and keep it around for its genetics. I think it may be a landrace indica brought back from Afganistan by someone in the Armed Services. I may breed it some day for it's prolific branching tendencies, and did I mention that it is almost lower than Lowryder?

I would like to put my unwanted bagseed monster outside as I know no growers to whom I can give it. It would be epic if I cage it and it can go all the way till fall. But, that is needless risk and effort for a strain I don't like.
