Growing Outdoors w/ Cold Weather On the way

I live in NE, Have 6 plants going and there is some rain and cold weather on the way. My babies had just sprouted about a week ago so I fear they're too young to handle this weather. Should only last a night or two but it'll be between 37-45 degrees for the majority of the day. My plan was to put a large ziplock bag over the top in hopes to create a small greenhouse effect. Any suggestions or comment on my idea would be GREATLY appreciated.

I used to use walls of water when I lived there...but using any kind of cover should also work...yeehaw
