On the side of my yard there is a thin strip of land that technically belongs to the forest preserve. It serves as a 10 foot buffer between my property and the root bases of the trees in the forest and extends about 200 yards. Their is plenty of natural vegetation that serves as camoflage and the buffer zone begins where my grass ends and ends at the tree line. I had great success there last year. Neighbors view it as my property, but there are markers set in the property boundry that distinguish as forest preserve. I had nice success there last year and have plans to increase this coming year. My question is whether or not they could seize my house if they find it, where technically I am growing on public land. Any insights anyone?
