Does anybody know how close you can grow to a school zone? This is in California. I don't know why but I can't find it on Norml's website. Thanks in advance for any helpful answers.

If you are prop215 legal, you have the right to grow for your own use anywhere you have possession of property(own or rent) including w/i 1000 ft of a school. Those signs are speaking of ILLEGAL drug use, not prop215 patients in California.

i think i might call the local police department and ask them their interpretion of prop 215 & drug free schoolzones...

it would kinda suck to need to use prop 215 to defend your innocence in court....

Patients are allowed to smoke in their house, even if they live right next to a school. Not sure why growing would be any different.

Per SB420:

11362.79. Nothing in this article shall authorize a qualified
patient or person with an identification card to engage in the
smoking of medical marijuana under any of the following
circumstances:
(a) In any place where smoking is prohibited by law.
(b) In or within 1,000 feet of the grounds of a school, recreation
center, or youth center, unless the medical use occurs within a
residence.
(c) On a schoolbus.
(d) While in a motor vehicle that is being operated.
(e) While operating a boat.
11362.795.

Better yet, ask a lawyer. Also, agreed on avoiding court whenever possible....

Great answers people. I would love to see a direct quote from the law. Quadracer's quote does show that you can smoke with a 1,000ft but only within a residence. Not sure how that will correlate to my outdoor grow, lol.

Also, Quadracer is right. I should call up a lawyer. I just thought somebody on here could save me some time and money.

Greyskull - I am sure you are right about the signs. I am too much of a pot head to notice them however. I will be looking for these now and thanks for the advice.
