The croutons work great. Biggest issue with them is that when they are used more than 4 inches deep, the bottom ones wick moisture from the top causing the top to dry. You can layer clay pebbles about an inch deep between every 4 inches of croutons, then you can fill Deep pots with them.

Rockwool does like a ph of 5.5. I ph solutions and water to 5.2 to start. This may sound too low to start, but 24 hours later the ph is at 5.5-5.6. Check what your ph does over time by mixing a gallon of feed, ph as normal, then check it at 24 hours later, 36 hours later, and 48 hours later. Monitoring ph changes over time (a couple days) will show you whether you should lower past 5.5 to start.

Good Luck, and Happy Growing!!

Some of the best crops I ever had with rockwool, was using torn up clean rockwool in cubic foot containers.

Sort of like croutons.

I’m having a huge ph issiue with the rockwool is it to high or to low ive never felt with ph this bad I ph my mix 5.5-5.7

Check your runoff ph and EC. Looks like lockout from nutrient buildup. Ph is climbing from your initial 5.7 mix. Runoff is going to tell you everything. Ph is going to be much higher and EC will be off the chart I bet.

Irrigate with ph adjusted water, and measure the values of the liquid that drains out from your containers.

So should I make a bucket of flush water Ph to 5.5 and see what the run off says? The funny thing is my flower tent is on point idk why I’m struggling to much after these rock wooll plants are gone it’s back to coco
