Growing in Nevada

I know there's a Nevada state-by-state discussion subforum, but I don't see any traffic there so I thought it'd get more views here.

Anyone here grow in Nevada, and/or know much about the medical laws there? Is it anything at all like California, or is it way different and if so in what ways?

Is it "legit" as long as you have a medical recommendation (and how hard is it to get, compared to CA) and under plant count limits? What are the plant count limits? Or are there other laws and regulations regarding canopy size, or other things that would make it difficult to somewhat legitimately grow a decent amount (6-10 lights)?

No like Cali at all. There us a state run registry. Order a packet have your doctor fill it out. And your in. Total cost is like 400. Law states that no consideration can be given for anything pot related so coops and dispensaries are no go per the law but there are some up an running. Limits are 4 veg 3 flower and 1oz usable product.

1oz usable product? So if your 3 flowering plants end up yielding, say, 8oz, what do you have to do with the remaining 7oz to be compliant?

Basically, you're saying that the law might protect your average closet grower with a few plants and a 400w - 1000w possibly, but no chance of anything bigger being legitimate?

Can you please elaborate? I'm assuming you mean "WoW that's big"? I don't know, I'm a bit jaded... where I'm from, 6-10 lights is small potatoes really.

I'm not sure what you mean by this 99/100+ thing, considering the "3 flowering plants" previously mentioned. Are you saying that it would be "OK" to have up to 99 flowering? Is the size/scale of the grow taken into consideration, or is it primarily based on plant counts?

Correct. Now what u do with the extra is up to you. It all boils down to what you can defend in court. The law does allow for ammirmative defense for over limit with medical necessity. So if you feel comfortable explaining it to a judge go for it. Other than that read nrs 453a

I would run it perpetual(with a 9 week strain, one harvest every 3rd week) , and turn all the extra into extracts(ie bubble hash, qwiso, bho, or whatever trips your trigger).

I wasn't really worried about how to handle 8oz. More like how to handle 20-30#. And no the point is not to turn it into concentrates.

honestly if you need to be told how to handel 20-30 pounds well maybe you shouldnt come here. to move product like that every harvest you would need to know the right ppl in town 1st off, unless you get in with a MMJ consulting place. whole bunch of them where poped recently so may wish to think about that venture

Are you serious? I'm not asking for help on how to handle 20-30# LOL.

I'm just asking for status on what'd happen if I were found by LEO with 20-30# extra. Where I'm from, they pretty much can't do much as long as my paperwork is covered. Sounds like in NV, they can pretty much do anything because there is no paperwork that'll cover 20-30#.

Din, ding, ding, give that man a cigar. if you are found here with 20 to 30 lbs it's gonna take some serious lawyers with campaign funded judges to get your ass out of that crack. LEO is harsh here. No paperwork will cover you for that.

From Norml-
Sale or Cultivation Less than 100 lbs (first offense) felony 1 - 6 years$20,000
Less than 100 lbs (second offense) felony 2 – 10 years $20,000
Less than 100 lbs (subsequent offense) felony 3 - 15 years $20,000
100 to 2,000 lbs felony 5 years $25,000
2,000 to 10,000 lbs felony 2 - 20 years $50,000
More than 10,000 lbs felony life*** $200,000
To a minor (first offense) felony 1 - 20 years variable
To a minor (second offense) felony life variable
Within 1,000 feet of school or other specifed areas felony double penalty double penalty
***Parole possible after 5 years.
Medical use permitted if less than 1 oz (3 to 4 plants).

The opening line is a bit misleading as Nevada has NO cultivation laws, yet. Just sales and possession penalties.
