Growing in a Trailer/5th Wheel?

Hey IC,

I'm considering growing in an old 5th wheel that's been gutted. I'm curious if any of you guys out there have tried this and could give me a heads up on any challenges exclusive to growing in a trailer.

All kidding aside, i would start off by covering all wall's floor and ceiling with 2 inch hard foam sheets covered with plywood. One solid box, put a wall in where needed to split. Heat gain or loss will be greater in a trailer depending where it sits, under carport, tree's. The foam boards will help keep it cooler in the summer. Paint and cover with panda or mylar and start growing!

That's my plan! Although I was just gonna use regular insulation. But maybe that pink foam board is a better idea because it's thinner and it will be space limited (as always).

I'm thinking about doing some soil and some hydro. I had great success with sterile hydro a few years ago and I've been itching it to give it another shot. I might do a flood and drain system but have the rez outside in the ground. Maybe cut a hole in the floor of the trailer or just plump it outside to the side of the trailer that has the awning.

Breaking Bad eh? Awesome.

I've been thinking of this very thing for about two years now. I'll edit this when I get back infront of my comp to tell ya what I've come up with so far...

*So ...5th wheel, RV, camper...its all the same shit pretty much its a 8' x whatever size box. The good news is the box usually comes with;

a) its own AC/furnace
b) plumbing
c) inverter for 110v and 12v systems
d) fair size resevoirs

I had plans on the camper just sitting remote up on blocks, I dunno what you plans are.

So the 12v system. Hooked up to a battery bank, charged with a roof mounted solar panel or two. Can run the 12v pumps (if one was going hydro) as well as provide power for the LED mom and clone area. And LED light to a work station.

Enclose your generator.

Your gutting it anyways right? Build a box inside to contain the genny. Access panel to it from the outside to add fuel, do maintenence, exhaust it obviously to the outside...you'll be able to deaden the sound of it a fair bit...(youtube for that) This keeps it protected from sticky fingers n' the elements.

I thought I'd buy two trailers for my off grid spot..one to grow in...one to sleep in.

A dope trailer is no place for a kitty.
And especially a litter of kittens!!!!!!!!!:spanky:

No, seriously! Or rats!!!! Think I'm kidding? Argued that point with my "help" until a near fire convinced him to get rid of the zoo.

Also, don't skip the floor insulation or you will get frozen roots in the winter, even with nice warm air.
