Growing again after being busted?

Who has grown again after being busted in the past? I think, most infamously on this site, would be krunchbubble, yes. Just wondering how many others have decided to give it another go and kept at it?

Now, my thought is, your risk probably hasn't increased much at all. It's not like the local PD is going to come sniffing around some spot they busted a year ago if you're in the same spot. And I really doubt your name goes on some FBI/DEA/NSA watch list that gets you noticed anytime you get a new place or electric in your name, etc. At least I know GPS tracking requires a warrant now.

So I'm curious, are there a number of people who learned their lesson and went on to be successful for a good while? Or do most people who try mysteriously get busted in a short while?

Obviously missing the point of the thread...........but you should check what you know

Some court cases might say otherwise....dangerous to spread that kind of misinformation.

i was watering plants 30mins after being in court for growing, dont worry about it, just make sure ya move out of the way and start over, done 6 grows since being alot more careful and ive been sweet, even had coppers knock on my door 3 times while plants were upstairs in full flower lol, just be extra careful and dont tell a soul, its the closest to u that gets ya caught

I think most return to grow even if its just for them selves. There's no way I would get my meds from a dispensary as long as I can still grow. I have been growing for a long time never been busted. Keeping yourself from getting busted is the most important

Well, I guess all I really know is what was in the news when the Supreme court said they need a warrant to GPS track your car.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/judicial/story/2012-01-23/supreme-court-GPS/52754354/1

the Supreme Court ruled Monday that police need a warrant before attaching a GPS device to a person's car.
The ruling, which marked the justices' first-ever review of GPS tracking, was unanimous.

http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2012/02/25/fbi-turns-off-thousands-of-gps-devices-after-supreme-court-ruling/

The Supreme Court’s recent ruling overturning the warrantless use of GPS tracking devices has caused a “sea change” inside the U.S. Justice Department, according to FBI General Counsel Andrew Weissmann.

Mr. Weissmann, speaking at a University of San Francisco conference called “Big Brother in the 21st Century” on Friday, said that the court ruling prompted the FBI to turn off about 3,000 GPS tracking devices that were in use.

These devices were often stuck underneath cars to track the movements of the car owners. In U.S. v. Jones, the Supreme Court ruled that using a device to track a car owner without a search warrant violated the law.

After the ruling, the FBI had a problem collecting the devices that it had turned off, Mr. Weissmann said. In some cases, he said, the FBI sought court orders to obtain permission to turn the devices on briefly – only in order to locate and retrieve them.

I had to change my ways after getting popped, but they can't keep this grower from doing what he loves! I took about 5 months off to lick my wounds and wait for the outdoor season to start. Had an outdoor garden going all through my court case. Didn't do indoors again until almost a year after getting caught.

However, since I'm somewhat on the radar I've changed my tactics. I'm still weary about posting pics online, and I've partnered up with someone so that nothing is in my name. It's more work this way for me and less profit but I figure as long as I'm on probation I don't want 'my own' garden. I can share for a couple years. It's actually a nice weight off my shoulders to have nothing in my name.

The only real scare I had was when DEA and local PD came to my house unexpectedly about a year after the fact to return some stuff they had in the evidence room. They said I had to sign for it. Luckily I wasn't home cause I would have freaked. I was thinking it was a way for them to snoop and ask me some questions, dig around a little. Nothing came of it.

Thanks for sharing. I've got some evidence I hope to get back too, but I don't expect to see the DEA when I get it!

Having things not in our names is essential. If you aren't at the place and you haven't left prints it won't get far in court (and depending on whose name it is in).

Well it's tough to not leave prints at the new place. I could just wear gloves the whole time, but for me it's just not realistic. I think prints would only turn into an issue if the other person got busted and rolled over on me. Then they could take prints for evidence. Otherwise there's no need to take prints if he fesses to the whole thing, which is the deal we made.

Even if it came to that, finding prints on equipment I'm thinking may not be enough. I could explain the prints by telling them I sold this person the equipment that wasn't confiscated from my previous grow. There are no phone records or anything else tying me to this person. Any and all dealings relating to pot is done with a throwaway phone. So all they would have are prints on some gear. I don't know if that's enough to be convicted of a crime. Doesn't seem like enough.

I definitely don't want that situation to even happen and there is most certainly risk involved in what I'm doing I have no delusions about that, but at least there are a couple safety nets for me if the floor were to fall out from underneath me. For me it's worth it.

I feel like they are quietly printing everything they bust now a days. Bags, hoods, and all sorts of shit plus DNA testing plants. At least hydro to see if they can connect it to growers in med states by some chance. Then that grower gets a DEA visit and if they are over the count, they go to court and pay $1k per plant fine. So, the fingerprint deal might just turn out to bust a bunch of people. So could the DNA....so, a simple pair of gloves might be a good idea. And maybe dust off your hair before you go on location to knock off the loose hairs. But, you can be low hanging fruit if you wish. A little labor might prevent a whole lot of grief and $$ lost. A misdemeanor or light felony can cost as much as $10K now days...

yeah always best to be ahead of the pack. as you say normally if the on site guy says it's his no need for prints. but if they think i wonder if this guy has a partner or had help building this, then the prints might come in handy. unless you have no reason to fear a visit, i would go in there in the next days and clean all the surfaces. from then on wear gloves and a hair net when you go in the grow. best to wear a clean jumpsuit too. a invisible partner needs to be invisible. this is good for pest prevention too. and even if they generally don't use prints to catch people so far, you never know when they will start, or if they are just busy building a data base of all the prints and dna they find at grow sites. i mean i'm sure they do it for meth labs, so....yeah.
