I need comments on this one.

i found pretty nice cab. ill show you pictures.
it has 3doors. 2 of them are for one big area (flowering room).
i will glue drawers together to use that are for flowering room also.
the 3rd door (on the right) hides 3 shelves. there will be clone room/dryer.

anyway im conserned what light to buy. think 250hps would work great, dunno bout 400 so i need comments.

man, i have so many questions but it seems that allways when i start writing my ideas & questions float away. :badday:

i smoke like 2oz a month. so looking self supply. street prices are way too high.

please help:)

and thankyou

that could work out great. with good ventilation you should be able to get away with a 400 just fine. id love a space like that.

peace

Have you already bought this cab? Most of these cabs are about $100.00. If you haven't bought it yet, have you thought about buying a grow tent? For $200.00 or a lil more you can buy a Hydrohut. I have one and they are far better than any wood cab. Easier to take down and move too if that becomes necessary.

Building a separate mom and veg grow is real easy and cheap.

This is my hydrohut "mini" You can get 9 five gallon pots in here and with the right ventilation...you can put a 600 in here easy, although I have a 400.

6" Vortex PowerFan: 449 CFM hooked to the scrubber, blowing the scrubbed air through an air-cooled hood or cool tube, and exhausting out the top or side of the hut. A variable speed control is a nice addition, allows to adjust the fan speed to make it quieter during the dark hours. Along with a passive intake fan on one of the vent openings on the side near the bottom to draw fresh air in.

I've got the mini hut, as well, MTweedman. The 600 was a bit hot in the summer-time, a 430 watt would've been ideal. I didn't have any control over the environment of the room the hut was in, which was what created the undesirable heat.

6'' 449CFM wow.

ive red here (old farts thread etc.) that growroom have to be vented out 2 times per minut for co2 exchange and ideally 5times per minut for cooling the room.
that means if u have 100cubicfeet of growroom. u ideally would use fan whats about 500CFM

mine will be about 6.33' x 3.08' x 1.67' = 32.56 cubic feet
so i would need 32.56 x 5 =162.8. fan with power of 162CFM

The hydrohuts are cool but harder to keep quiet for stealth reasons.
alk loid, that same cab I saw at sears for $165 made by Sauder ( wardrobe storage cabinet ), I almost bought it myself.

I don't understand what you mean about harder to keep quiet. I live in an apartment. My HydroHut "mini" is in a spare bedroom with some guys living directly overhead. Never had an issue with noise. Hell, I can barely hear the blowers from my other bedroom.

Now the difference may be that I have a Dayton 465 pulling air out through a scrubber in the hut. It exhausts into the same room. I also have a smaller Dayton squirrel cage type fan pumping fresh air into my hut. I can barely hear these two fans in my living room, 10-12 feet away.

This is the reason I prefer Dayton squirrel cage blowers over the Vortex blowers. Squirrel cage type blowers are quieter, however I admit they aren't as convenient as Vortex blowers are. If I put a trash can style muffler on my 465's output, you'd barely hear it standing next to it.

PS

You could use a Dayton 265 for that cab of yours at the top of the thread. Get the 140 for a fresh air supply fan.

Just saying it would be harder to hear your vent system through a wooden cab vs tent material.
Not trying to knock the tents!

No I know you weren't knocking the tents, but you made my point for me. The Vortex blowers, mounted inside a cab or grow tent, are noisy. Solid wall or tent wall makes little difference for noise.

My blower is located outside my tent....and it is still quiet enough that you can barely hear it outside the room it is in.

My smaller Dayton(fresh air supply blower) is sitting on that chair. The Dayton 465 is sitting on a chair just like it on the other side of the tent.

My next major purchase is a hydrohut. Right now I have 2 home-made cabs. 1 for veg, 1 for flower. Both are wooden framed and then covered in panda film complete with door on hinges and eye-hook latch. Completely light tight with 2 6" passive intakes, 6" diameter cool tubes attached to 6" ducting, being extracted by a 6" vortex.

The veg cab is 3x3x4', the flower is 3x3x6'.

And the hydrohut STILL appeals to me mainly for quick setup/breakdown value.
