Grow Wardrobe

I have this wardrobe and i want to put a 250w hps lamp.

When i went to the local electric store to buy the lamp the onwer told me that its not possible because its going to catch fire. So what can i do to make this work?

Might be a good idea to keep your intentions close to the vest.

You've got to have proper lighting, proper wiring and proper venting/cooling. Anything less and you may indeed have a fire on your hands.

shit dude u told the guy in the electrical supply u wanna put a 250w hps in a cabinet??? not smart and yes without proper cooling it will cause a fire. i think a 4in can fan filter combo would solve all ur problems will just take u making some mods to ur cab.

What if I put one cfl at 200w for flowering and one at 100 for grow?

If you're interested in a tip or three, consider sketching your rough idea on ms paint, etc. You can do a 250hps if you want. Best thing to do is multiply width x depth of your footprint to determine lamp size. If you go hps, you'll need ~50 watts per square foot.

Throw that bulb in a cool tube setup and it wont be an issue.

Unless you're using an extremely tiny space, I don't know why you'd need a cool tube with a 250w. That wardrobe looks to be approximately 3x2' and maybe 5.5' high?

Before you pick a light, you need to consider your ventilation ability. Can you cut a couple of holes in it? You need a hole for air intake, and one for exhaust. Secondly you need to consider what type of fan you have to cool it. A HPS bulb is harder to cool than flouros. Vert is easier to cool than traditional horizontal gardens.

If you want to use that HPS, I'd run it vertically. Place one of those black honeywell style fans directly under your bulb and blow it straight up. Arrange the plants in a circle around the bulb. Then you'd need a fan/filter to extract the air and remove the odors, a 4" fan/filter would do you good. You'd get more bud and wouldn't need to buy a reflector.
