Grow tent heat and humidity problems

Hi, looking for some help with set up please.

Homebox tent 1mx1mx2m with a 600w light, budget reflector, 5" rvk intake fan and 5" rvk turbo outtake pulling through carbon fiter then through 5m of ducting.

Got a major heat problem getting temps of 37c and humidity of 30.

pulling air into tent from 1 side of room and pushing air out to the other side about 1m from window.

Instead of tent being sucked in by out take it is being inflated by intake.

Any suggestions how to get temps down?

Hook up an exhaust. Maybe the same size as your intake so it doesn't suck or blow up your tent. Equal pressure.
I have never growen in a tent or without exhaust so I am just tossin ideas.

I'm already using a 5" rvk exhaust fan?

how is your light set up? Pictures always helps. You need more intake for sure. do you have a cooltube hooked up? are there fans in the tent itself? Humidity is a bit low too.

Maybe try slowing down / restricting that intake...

Firstly if the sides of the tent are being blown outwards like a balloon then you need to deal with that asap, or the smell when you get into flower will be far too obvious, since the scrubber wont really be doing jack.

It may also help lower your temps, as it seems possible that with more intake than exhaust, some of the hot air being generated by the bulb will be getting pushed out into the room the tent sits in (and I assume, draws its intake air in from) thus causing your intake air to be warmer, causing temps inside the tent to rise, repeating the cycle...

Remember, carbon scrubbers etc.. can cut down airflow by as much as 40%, so if you have a 5" intake and a 5" exhaust, the intake is no doubt "overpowering" the exhaust.

Agree on the cooltube, but as for the intake.. no way! It looks as if he has exactly the same intake as exhaust fan (but with scrubber on exhaust, obviously) and says the sides of his tent are bulging outwards, rather than being sucked inwards and you want to add even MORE intake? lol thats crazy, itll just push all the warm air (and smells during flower) from inside the tent out through every zip, and seam in the tent and make things even worse.

To be honest, make sure your exhaust airflow is within range to control heat (take a look at the ventilation 101 and such threads in growroom design forum) becuase cramming more intake in there isnt going to help, if you cannot get the hot air out.

Light is in a budget rectangle reflector hanging from top of tent below below filter. Two 6" fans on side of tent pointing at light.

No cool tube.
Put a jug of water in tent to try and raise temps.

Maybe a bigger outake fan then?

coopsvip,
Yeah, check the Ventilation 101 sticky. If your tent is inflating, you obviously have more intake than exhaust. Ideally, you'd have the tent being sucked in just slightly. This can be accomplished with an overkill exhaust fan with a speed controller.

I don't know what kind of fans you're talking about, but centrifugal fans are the only way to go. The carbon filter, as stated above, will cut exhaust fan flow by a lot.

I'd rather have passive intake-twice the square inches as the exhaust fan, and an exhaust fan that exceeds the amount of air needed for the number of cubic feet of space, so that it is capable [with filter] of exhausting all the air in the tent at least 4 times per minute. [3x3x6=54 cu.ft., x4=216cfm]. That would be a 6" centrifugal fan and speed controller with 2-6" passive intakes, or 1 - 9" round intake, or 1 - 8x8" square intake. [6" Cent. fan-approx 400 cfm less 40%=240 cfm].

With plenty of intake, you may not be able to get the tent to suck in, but that's OK.

This will get your temps down and the humidity will probably take care of itself. If not, you could use a humidifier with humidistat, sitting outside of tent, close to intake. Here's a good one.

youre going to want negative pressure here...
so this means you should be pulling air into the tent through passive intakes at the bottom and out a powered exhaust at the top.

scrubber>hood>fan>out of tent>

so your tent should be "sucking in" essentially youre pulling a vacuum.

Make a window exhaust box and exhaust hot air outside,if not using central air/heat then run exhaust into the vent in the room or exhaust into attic.Remove intake fan and buy an aircooled hood and rig it with the fan you were using for intake to straight air cool the bulb, just don't recirculate that hot air back into the room your grow sits in.Exhaust stale hot air outside bring in cool fresh air.
