Grow Journal _ K2 + more being added

Hi everyone, this will be my first grow journal, and it will be missing some pics and logs of early events as I had not planned to do one of these for some time..... but since I started taking pictures of my ladies I figured that I may as well share them!

So, on with the growing!

germed 1 K2 and 2 WYD to start

1 of the WYD's was pretty scraggly so i tossed it, the other wyd grew very nicely up until i found it to be male

germed 2 Cough beans after sexing the WYD, since i now had extra pots.

1 cough dies as a seedling... dunno what the hell the problem was , it never even got to its first set of leaves, just turned black and shriveled up.

2nd cough is growing faster than the k2, which btw was a very quick and healthy starter.

these plants are to be the start of our Mother collection, in my room mates closet under 130 watts of cool blue floro's (2x 65watt flourex flood lamps)



At about this time my room mate and I figured we should try and fix a situation with our power that was causing problems for us last summer when we were running our air conditioners. For whatever reason if 1 fuse blows the whole fuckin house goes out with it.... so we wait about a month or so and nothing gets fixed .... as we wait our mothers veg....

For the mothers at this time, we were using GH nutes from a hydro setup i had purchased, and will not be using ( i made my own, more to come on that!) The plants seem to be responding favorably to their food.

decided to take a cutting of each K2 mother plant and just put the soil mothers into flower today, finally, after all that bullshit with the power and blah blah blah, lets get this shit started! we've been vegging our mothers now for what seems like an eternity. some 8 weeks of veg i believe, or damn close anyway.

Shown above are the mothers that are left , some Whos y'r daddy, Cough, and the k2 cuttings , also some various wyd cuttings yet to be sexed, we will put these newly rooted testers into flower with the K2's for sexing purposes.

too bad we're doing soil tho, i really wanted to get a tubbler goin for these purdy ladies.

at this point the little scrawny twig in the middle has been flowering for approx 15 days in my bedroom closet under a single compact floro in a 12 oz. keg cup lol, i was anxious to get started i guess.

took 5 cuttings of the cough mother, first time for me with hydro in my new bubbler bucket!

here's a close up of one of my lovely clones.

it's a 14 gallon rubbermaid type thing that has locking handles that hold the lid nice and tight down....

using five 3" netpots (GH brand HEAVY DUTY) they actually seem to fit quite nicely in the 3" holes that i drilled... i was a bit worried about them sliding through (which i believe the standard netcups might do)

I'm using hydroton , I was going to use lava rocks, but i didn't buy small enough rocks to work for my setup I don't think.

under the hood there are two 200gph submersible water pumps , one pumps into a 1/2" poly hose that I drilled five 1/8" holes in for my feeding lines. I bought 5 barbed 1/4" connectors to hold the feed lines firmly into the 1/2" polly hose. The other pump is going to be used to empty and refill the tub.

on top is the GH dual diaphram air pump, i'm sure i could have saved some money on this peice if i would have bought some cheapo unit... but i'm happy with this pump so far, seems pretty quiet. it is connected to 2 1 way valves , incase of power outtage or freak accident it will keep water from siphoning out onto my floor. Those valves run into 4" air stones that sit submerged in nute juice, keeping it nice and bubbly in there.

Bought some black and white poly to keep light out , should prolly make covers for the netpots soonly.

And here is the nute sauce that my plants are now recieving.

these ladies seem to really love the bubbler , they are thriving now, I'm excited. both for the ladies in the closet downstairs , and the future of my budomatic c22 with new and improved hydro power!

9 days flowering for the 2 big girls, and between 21 and 25 days on the clone I think. I wish that I had kept better track of when I started that one , looks pretty nice tho if I do say so myself... worth every penny of the 15$ I spent on the seeds

Also about 2 days ago i started germing some Bogbubble and Rockbud, the rockbud hasn't popped yet, but the bogbubble did, and it was quite surprising to see what it gave me! check this out!

haha , i've NEVER seen this before ever, a mutant seedling, that's only 1 bean making 2 plants! rofl!

updates will come as time passes , im all caught up with my pics now... please ask me some questions as i'm sure i left out a ton of details.... and there are a few photos in my gallery that I have left out of my posts, check em out if ya like, nothing too great just yet, the big gonzonga buds should be comming in a couple weeks! stay tuned!

the nft style system u made look's nice can u send me a more detailed layout of it(pump layout an shit) coz i'd been thinking of makin' me own set up similiar.i currently use the drip feed system using the big beefy rockwool cubes and have had good result's(well i only done 1 grow) the plant's grew very stout and stocky with massive foot long cola's,but alas the weed woz pretty shitty,it woz big bud x super skunk should've been a nice smoke i cut it at the right time and cured it well(sampled a bit quick dried as u do when you ain't got no otha stash ta hand) got the seed's from the highland seed co(got a decent rating on greenmans update) but i won't use them for my next venture the seed breeder woz high quality seed's so try and steer clear of em'.i see u use worldwide seeds or woz it seedsdirect can't remember now im smokin the widow at the moment niiice anywayz any advice u have on seed suplier's would also be appreciated if u have time send me a message back cheer's....get back ta me deadly spider now cough ...

basically i just have a cheapo RIO submersable pump stuck to the bottom of the rez, with a 1/2 inch hose attaced to that.

the 1/2 inch hose is kinked shut at the end, and has 5 feeder lines attached to it, which go through the top of the tub, and back down into the hydroton / jiffy plugs, the water just kinda runs along the side so it's not spraying directly on the stem or top of the root.

five 3 inch netpots, one dual diaphram air pump with 2 airstones attached to it making bubbles.

pretty much a basic tubbler with a couple extra hoses for feeding. dunno what else i can really say, wish i woulda taken pictures of the construction, but did not. once the plants are a bit more stable in there i can lift up the lid and take a couple pics if you like.

Just a note about the cough clones that i have going, seems that rooting in the bubbler was not such a good idea, they are still in very good health, but rooting has come quite slowly, think i will be sticking to good ole cup + perilite + water from now on.

might be that the jiffy plug things are sogging the stems i dunno, but they seem to hold a lot of water, i've taken the feeder lines out as well and just goin with old a standard tubbler until the plants are firmly rooted.

then again , maybe it's just the strain... guess i'm not sure.


bought a carbon filter from the local shop, 150$ , it's a Carbonairre econo something, dunno i'll take some pics in the next couple days here once the buds fill out a bit more on the k2's

compared to the prices i've checked out elsewhere for carbon filters , this was a steal imo works like a charm . K2's get a bit stanky, and have a WYD that i put into flower that stinks something fierce as well , and with the filter installed i cant smell anything.

The ladies are on day 16, and lookin hairy and starting to show the first signs of trichome development, threw the cough mother and a WYD mother in flower as well, they are now on day 3 and the WYDs sex is still in question. we shall see....

K2 is really starting to fill out, probably have some 20 days or so left on them. Buds are becoming coated in trichomes , they are starting to smell like a mix of some rotting meat , peaches and skunk… very strange odor.

The Cough mother that is in flower is beginning to produce some
trichomes as well, cant wait to see her in another 20 days or so, she is on day 20 now. Started flowering on 5-30-04.

Have 3 Bogbubble seedlings , 3 Sour Diesel seedlings , and 3 Lifesaver seedlings starting right now.

Also a friend of mine will be providing me with a couple Grapefruit clones within 3 weeks.

These were givin the chop at 39 days flower.

Yes 39 days. I harvested early to move my possibly strawberry cough clones into flower , because they were ready and I see much better traits in those plants than the k2's here.
