grow cab ventilation query

Setting up a 3 chamber grow cab like the original one on overgrow just a bit bigger..

Heres the question:

If I have one passive intake in the mother/clone section , then the air flows through "piping" into the veg. chamber..

Now , Can I use an aircooled hood with one side open , then the other side with ducing leading to a can carbon scrubber and then ducting finally attached to a 205cfm S & P inline fan which will expel the air out??

i.e

passive air in ---) through ducting---) Sucked through hood (400w HPS) then into a carbon scrubber , all being pulled by a 206cfm inline fan???

I understand it will obviously effect the efficiency of the ventilation , but from the aircooled hood to the actual fan I am using a total amount of ducting not exceeding 1m.

Any comments , hints or advice?

although i think hoods do a better job at reflecting light, there not so great at keeping heat under control. you might want to take a look at a cool tube with a wing over it. take a look at the CMH bulb too, i have one and would never fire up a HPS again. they run cooler and plug right up in a HPS ballast. some have issues firing them due to poor igniter's used in some ballasts. there is a whole thread on CMH lighting if you haven't seen it yet i'd say check it out.

from what i hear inline fans are loud and don't do so hot when pulling through a scrubber. for 40 bucks walbogs has the stanley blower that seriously kicks ass! i promise it will do way way more than you need. all you gotta do is tape a 6" flange on it and you got a killa blower.

if you copied the NGB as far as air flow is concerned, you will not have any problems. a good rule of thumb is to have twice the intake as exhaust. no less or it will start to cause unnecessary resistance on the exhaust system.

i run my light on a closed loop from my grow environment, it allows me to run as much air as possible to keep my light cool. i can touch the glass right next to the bulb and it's warm but not hot.

i'm here to help, ask away.

If I am visualizing your setup correctly, yes...I think it would work just fine.

Your fan size might be marginal for all those flow obstructions. I would give it a try though, you shouldn't be too far off...

in my opinion, the "right" inline fan (i.e. centrifugal) will work better and more quietly than a squirrel cage, especially if you go oversized and slow the fan speed.

..the stanley blower mod is a cheap way to step up flow though...

Good luck!

Just so you know, if you go inline, you can kiss your stealth goodbye. If you can put the fan in the attic or behind locked doors, they're ok.

mr.kade!
you know it man! i got the thread up and running in the mirco and the diary forums. all i wanted was a small space that i could make a lil dankage cause my bigger grow(same style, much larger) fell through. someone involved thought his balls were bigger than they were. bailed out on me. so i'm going solo! i should have done that to begin with. you just wait... my new "cab-o-bows" thread will pop off soon. i never thought it would work in such a small space but somehow i got it right the first time. out with the old, in with the new my friend! vertical is the way to go no matter how small or large your grow space is. I WILL PROVE THIS! ha ha
i'm running a bubba x tw(could be BS) i was gifted. this is the 4th go around with my yield getting better and looks, smells, taste, and has the bubba high. they were hermed and it may just be a backcross of the bubba. never seen a frostier plant and i can't wait to see this tube i got full of it. and they fuckin REEK! :woohoo:
