Grow box design help

What's up grasscity, I've been growing outdoors for about 5 years, and I'm getting a new house were I can't keep a good eye on my crop. I have a couple of questions I'm hoping y'all can answer for me. I'm wanting to build a nice grow box for inside the house, I want to have it where I have veg on one side and flower on the other. I'm going to be doing 5 gallon bubble buckets maybe one or two plants. I'm thinking of doing cfls for veg and hps maybe 400w with three t5 singles for flower, would that work if so what wattage? The other question is, the box I what to build I'm trying to figure out dimisions. I was thinking maybe 5' h, maybe 4' w, and 2 or 3 foot deep? I'm not sure if that is big enough or too small. I'm planning on making a top shelf for the ballast, and vent to go in. And use computer fans to vent the ballast heat.

Thank you for any feedback

This post would be better if when you copy and pasted it from GC you changed the post on GC to say "what up ICmaggers"

Skip the box look into tents.

O yeah and welcome to ICMAG.

Idk, alot of people are fans of tents, but I'm a fan of boxes for security purposes. Boxes are also more sound proof, don't have as many light leaks due to being constructed of solid materials, etc. The first box I built was wooden, 4 foot wide, 2 foot deep, and about 6 ft tall. It has a locking door as well, which is nice. My second setup is a simple 4'w x 2'd x 6'h metal shelf frame wrapped in thick plastic. It was set up in a hurry because I needed a place to put some clones I had. After this run I will be tearing it down and building something more permanent like a box. I guess it all comes down to individual preference. If you have absolutely zero worries of anyone getting into the area your grow is in, then go with a tent. If there is ever a possibility, build a box.

Grow boxes are nice and all,but the ease of setup and take down with tents beats boxes.

Very true, but in his first post he said he is just getting a new house. If he owns it and plans to be there for a while, a box seems like a worthwhile project.
