Grinders, How when and were ?

I do not recall having seen them before some time around 2002. I was so impressed that I got a few of them when I saw them the first time. I thought at the time, and still do now that it was one of the more useful things I had run across. Anyone know how they came to be ?

IN the 70s you cleaned weed with an album cover by tilting the double album cover and letting the seeds roll down the seam, and there weren't many buds to grind up. I saw them first in the form of kief grinders. Then they became the norm for grinding buds in the early 90s but had more of a storage compartment built into it. With vaping they have evolved again.

grinders have been used for other herbs for a long time...I used to have a few oldass ones...
