wassup everyone?

just seeing if anyone has any experience with greenhouses in colorado? i lost a decent amount to snow one year and not many indicas truely finish at 8000ft elevation, so im considering a greenhouse.

would it be possible to get them out mid march-mid may for 1 harvest
? lighting should still make them flower during that period, right?

also, im interested in what ppl out in cali are doing with tarping and getting 4+ harvestss a year...im sure id need a lot more heating in colorado though. im contemplating investing a lot in a greenhouse this year. should i just invest 3-5k in a decent greenhouse with no heating and try and pull 2 or 3 havest? or should i go all out with 10k+ and get a 96x30 greenhouse with heaters big fans etc and be able to pull 4+? if i can do 2 in 2015 then thats fine with me and ill invest back into 2016. would i be able to pull 2 without heating in colorado at 8k elevation?

any advice appreciated. shout out to caliente carlos 1000 BRAH:dance013:

You would probably need supplemental lighting in the off months. Is that what you were planning? Without your plants wont fill in as well and potency will suffer also...

You need to consider the type of growing you will be doing in the greenhouse as well as expected root temps. Plants buried in the ground in a greenhouse will have a. It of heat from the earth to the rootzones. At the same time if the outside ground is below freezing, it may have an effect on the plants in a huge way.

I'm running a greenhouse in a snow/frost prone location in cali, same thing applies to me. I just keep plants in 5 gal buckets instead of ground and have the ability to place a heat mat of some kind under them to keep roots from freezing. All about maintaining an environment hospitable to the plants year round.

Mid March, there is enough light in the sky to flower without any lights, if you're just wanting to flower. You will need some heat for sure, but we get twelve hours of light by spring equinox on March 21st or 22nd. The days will be getting longer, so you will need to pull a light proof cover to keep them at twelve hours dark/light or whatever light schedule you choose. 12/12 is what I always do. I use a giant hay tarp from the farm store.

At the same time they are flowering you could have another greenhouse in veg. with supplemental lighting for staggered plantings and harvests.

I'm actually about three weeks into flower with my oldest plants right now in a greenhouse in Colorado at about 8000 ft with several in veg getting ready for the mid March planting for the spring harvest. Planning on an early spring, late spring, and midsummer harvest as well as a fall harvest. I supplement with 1000 watt lights this time of year in veg and flower rooms(another reason for the hay tarp)and use a mr. heater from time to time. Seems to work. Nothin too huge, but it keeps me and some other patients in meds. Wish I could afford to drop 10k on a greenhouse. I build my own for now. I would love to help with a 96 x 30 greenhouse. 4+ would be on the extremely low low low end. More like 60 or 70++ if you spread em out enough and treat em right. I've seen it done last couple three years... They can get real big if ya let em... Even in cold ass Colorado. Good luck. Hope this helps.
