Greencure and budrot

Hello all...

I am trying to get back to mighty mite after a long hiatus. RM's were expensive, so I shot for a seed crop after selecting a tall male.

In the north central US it has been brutally hot and humid...I found some bud rot today especially around the sites with finished seeds.

Can green cure stop this? Thanks, Jeff

I've been using it against PM at low dose (2 tsp/gal) to avoid burning the buds. Does it kill it? No, but it seems to (reasonably) keep it in check. I assume the same applies to budrot. Once you get it you've got it; you can only really contain it.

Will Greencure liquidate budrot? Probably not, but it will keep it in check and save your harvest. You are going to be pulling some small chunks here & there though, at least I am with PM on leaves.

Serenade might be more effective (I have no experience with it), but the consensus seems to be that Greencure is much safer to use than Serenade.

Best of luck and be sure to report back to us.

Its been brutally hot and humid in the mid-south also....
Certain strains do well here but others will always get either botrytis mold or leaf spot disease..
If you mean the same by "bud rot" as I do, (buds that turn brown and dry and then eventually absorb moisture and get slimy if you don't cut them off) I believe it is caused by moths which lay eggs in your buds at night, and when the eggs hatch, little caterpillars about 3/8 inch long munch on the bud killing it.. Once the bud is completely brown and dry, the caterpillars have moved on to the next bud or have turned into moths already..

I keep a close lookout for it here.. When you see it, snip off the entire bud from the branch and throw it in your burn pile..

I dont know why people without experience try to help.

Actually, everybody who posted in this thread seems to have experience, judging by the way the posts read. I don't have experience with the particular product that you recommended, but that doesn't mean that I don't have experience with PM and bud rot. I'm actually dealing with both right now, and the prior poster talking about caterpillars as the cause is correct.

I don't know why some people have to turn everything into Pros vs. Joes and act like they're swinging the biggest dick on the block.

HAHA i agree so many that are the worlds greatest growers!!:YaRight: i bet i got just as much or more experience with bud as anyone else in this thread. ive studied good alot of university studys about this damn botrytis cinerna aka grey mold. there needs to be a combo to of stuff to fight this shit. i personally am using Sns244c,regalia,chitosan and salicylic acid and actinovate. i thought about buying sernade but there is just as many claims that it dont work that they are that it does work. same with greencure u can read many threads where some swear by it and others say it failed them. i do know last year after i lost about 60% of my grow to bud rot that i found the greencure thread here that silverback made and it stopped the shit from spreading to any new parts of bud that i had and allowed me to finish flowering out 2 strains that would have been a total lose.
to the OP since u already have a infection the best thing to do is cut the bud off and put it into a plastic bag. spray infected area of ur plant with greencure to kill any spores that is there before u cut it off and then place in bag. just a little brown spot the size of ur pinky nail of fuzzy grey mold has over 60,000 spores that is just ready to be airborne as soon as u move the limb. just cutting the shit out and not using anything to kill the spores that is left in that area will do nothing but infect everthing that is under the limb. ive tried cutting it out doing the alcohol and peroxide way to swab it didnt do shit for me. just google Prevention of botrytis cinerna cannabis and there will be tons of different views and opinions. u just gotta wade thur the bullshit and find the best that works for u.gl man

where do you get your chitosan and salicylic acid from?
crab? and aloe vera?

MountainBudz

⛽🦨 Kinebud and Heirloom Preservationist! 🦨 ⛽
The easiest, cheapest and most obtainable way for salicylic acid would be aspirin.

Working wonders for me this year, my first year using it.

Not used any chitosan that I am aware of myself.

There is just so much bad info, if you havent tried it you really cant offer up much real useful info. Like saying Greencure is safer, that is just bad info and caterpillars will certainly cause gray mold but that wasnt the question. Not about any ego, I will never meet any of you, just isnt sensible for folks to give advice because they did a bit of reading or got botrytis a few times. I doubt any of your enviroments are as wet as my place in Puna Hawaii.
