roots often turn green when exposed to light, are your roots exposed to light? if so, cover them up, you don't want them forming chlorophyll, hence the green

Yes that's what it is...thank you! I've already battled a bad case of mites I was hoping that this wasn't because of that battle...

Probably just algae wont hurt anything if it is...
A pic would help diagnose what it actually is.

lucky, cover ur roots with whatever media you are growing in, like, top coat with more soil, or another layer of rockwool. tin foil would work but may warm up & not be ideal.

Well the Green Roots pic of the plant out of the system looks healthy but the plant from Neem looks pretty bad. I suspect you have a light leak somewhere and algae is living off the Nirtogen and Phospahates in your system.

Algae will deplete DO (dissolved oxygen) in hydro systems. Algae grows fast and dies fast due to the nutes required to grow herb. When the algae dies bacteria will break it down and deplete O2.

This is called BOD (biological oxygen demand). So it's the decay of algae that depletes the O2 in the system. Decay, bacteria and less O2 in a recirc system is a recipe for root rot.

Commercial hydro growers often use H2O2(hydrogen peroxide) to keep algae growth down, keep bacteria levels down and also boost DO levels.

Check for light leaks as advised.

1ml of Clorox per 5 gallons of water in your system will clear that problem up for you and act to prevent root rot, too.

Good looks Avi..u were on point the whole time...i'll prob need a lot more advice along my travels but I'm a quick study...just a new patient exercising my right to cultivate. I have a throw away cell I'm using and been having troubles w the pic attachments

My reservoir runs about 68° naturally...So I will see later on this evening if the tin foil works

What would be the proper mix ratio for my hydrogen peroxide (With a 3 percent stability) per 1 gallon of water? I am growing hydro and battling green root algae caused from a light leak?!

Sounds like you got the brown bottle stuff from the drug store. I wouldn't use it. Find 35% food grade, usually found at health food stores. Make sure it is/was stored in the fridge.

I have ran as high as 10 ml/gal but suggest 3-5ml/gal initial(about a teaspoon/gal). You need to continue add 1/4 of initial amount daily. So you start with 1 teaspoon/gal and top off daily with 1/4 teaspoon/gal.

I veg in clear small bins and never have algae at the roots....even with water at 75 +degrees.

I've never used neem oil...it's the word oil the scares me...choking the plants!

I've used h202 and or javex to sterilize the water before using it...I also use a cold water source too.
