Green light in flower room during lights off?

Jorge Cervantes says you can use a green tinted light in your flowering room during lights off without disturbing the photoperiod.

I didn't know that shit! He doesn't elaborate. Anyone care to give me the skinny? How much light are we talking here? Do they sell lights specifically for this? Do they have a CFL model? Would a green filter turn any given light into a flower-safe light?

Not much help but I do remember this coming up here before. I remember that you should make sure that it is green glass used for the bulb instead of just a green covering on the light.

i am also interested in this green light but i am worried about light stress in dark period...
i am woried about buying the wrong bulb because there are two types of green bulb that i have seen 1. lets say philips spot light green and philips party green

I would use green light for misting my plants without fearing that my HPS bulbs will explode ...

Chlorophyll doesn't absorb light between 5-600 nm, so theoretically a lamp emitting only this part of the spectrum wouldn't stress the plants. Though IMO a more practical approach is to time the light cycles to fit your schedule.

Stoner, I think what we'll have to do is run an experiment with a particular brand and see if it works. Say, try to flower a plant under a small HID in a closet with a green bulb on 24/7.
