Greed Weed

Greed weed. All the dispensary weed lately feels like greed weed. Until now.

I light one up... I'm numb two tokes in. I laugh. I mean, I really laugh. Feel great for 2 hours. Then, this almost spiritual feeling where I nearly cry. Then I start feeling a little tired. I get hungry. Then sleepy. Then lights out. Darkness. And, it's consistent. I smoke daily.

I found 4 seeds.

Yeah the herb out there is strong. Yeah the nuggets are dense, but what it's really all about is this right here. That traditional, strong, bad ass high.

Not too strong, the strongest THC, or the this or that... just a really awesome fucking consistent high. Some surfer music came on a random radio station late last night. I feel that was my good karma for lighting one up.

Stop growing for money, and start growing good herbs like this, and the dispensary situation will be a dream come true.

Is your local weed scene all greed weed, or are they taking the time?

Greed weed for sure. Few an far between satisfy me. And usually its short lived if it does come close.

Weird how something like a commercial pink kush quads has such a quick tolerance build up. It will get you everytime but how much depends on how much you smoke. Maybe its too strong but I dont buy that.

Back in the day it was still similar greed weed but not so much. There were more bigger grows running proper strains back in the day imo. There was less white strains that r pure bag appeal. Today seems everything is a white strain.

celebrated our first day of legal rec sales by buying my
7 gr. limit across 7 strains, at 3 shops in SW Portland:
Zion Cannabis
Canna and the City
Little Amsterdam West

all grams were in the $10-$12 range. under $80 total,
along with a huge pre-roll of mendo kush freebie.
(shit, went over my 7 gr.)

only tried two strains so far, and they both do as advertised
quite nicely... leavin' me both pleased and surprised.

vancouver, wa just announced reduced prices to better compete.
haven't ever gotten anything really good over there btw,
which is why i was surprised with today's portland purchases...
(at saner prices)

cheers

I agree, a lot of greed weed around but... With jail sentences offered for some growers and the possibility to make money and our general culture in north america, it all seems logic.

But for sure, if one has the intention of producing medicine, I believe it can make a big difference in the end result compared to someone who only cares about money.

Dude…What dispo has real weed?! Please tell me you found it in Co? It would actually be quite cool to go into a store for great ganja..

Colorado currently does not have any real cannabis for sale. It's all greed weed…

It's a shame. Most of that chem'd BS is actually detrimental to your health...

Hasn't this been a problem around longer than legalized rec?
I always figured these plants picked up the vibrations of whomever was growing them.
Only way around it is to make friends with a kind grower or grow your own.

One of my older buddies who was a really experienced grower told me about the "Secret Life of Plants" and his experiments into growing using music, love, meditation etc. Said it worked, the more quality time he spent with his crop all affected the end product.

In the words of Mr Gecko: 'Greed works'

At least it seems to work for those who practice it. That's why they do it, and keep doin' it.
Then it's just too bad for the others ..

theres like a million places..some good ..some bad..some greedy some not..the san diego reader has like 12 pages of adds for em...I can get delivery fast as a pizza if I want...I grow my own but sample now and then ...I would say 80 percent greedy garbage overall.....yeehaw..I don't trust most weed as people use systemic shit and a lot of chems/pgrs ..I am an mostly or all organic guy ...testing is getting better and then the playing field will be even for all the cheaters/compared to safe medicine I produce....

now, after a week of rec sales purchases here in Portland, i gotta start agreeing with the greed weed concept.
plus, the budtenders are pretty clueless and just spout names and numbers (e.g., THC%).
had one say, "all the strains have the same effect, just different tastes."
and none of 'em know what a real sativa is.

but to be fair, it's a tough business. imagine not being able to write-off
rent, payroll, utilities, etc....

greed is an attachment, tamasic in nature. it's a sin in different religions for a reason.
"There are three gates leading to this hell-lust, anger, and greed. Every sane man should give these up, for they lead to the degradation of the soul." Bhagavad Gita Chapter 16: TEXT 21
i chose a long time ago not to let it into my system, and i don't regret it.
it is avoidable so no, no greed weed here for me.

good vibes

i'm not saying people aren't dumb,

i was thinking about this, and i figure it's probably safer to play dumb. prolly lonely growers/hopefuls walk in and embroil them in boring convos about stuff they hear all day, trying to sound like experts.

i'd hate to be a kid in a society progressing out of mindless bullshit.. in youth, you clue in to your wiser predecessors.. "sure, marijuana is safer than pharmaceuticals.. sure, drinking soda all day will fuck you up" it's obvious from watching your elders.. but us old guys are the ones who spent thirty years in a personal struggle to evince something young people take for granted. "yeah great story grampa heard it a thousand times already" :p

I see budtender positions available to people with no experience all the time. I think it's good, but it's up to the employer to properly train their employees and give them tools to do so, and there are certainly dispensaries with money in their sights more than others unfortunately.

Funny hearing the end buyer perspective, FWIW after all is said and paid that commercial shitty lower end is just that the shittier end.... clubs seek that out to payless and dump it out on patients... and from a grower side when all bills are equal, those crops don't make money but dispensaries buy em and all the killer true triples are bought up and sold by others, usually shipping from our parts..

Also much of that lower end probably has less spray and food or it wouldn't look shit.... and don't trust the dispensary to be truthfull on strain, organic, hydro ect. because their just going to call the best shit the highest $ names, and call all the bunk commercial or say cured old strain ect ect.

just a money game all around, but the best kills is the 2lbs+ runs and they are usually faster, cheaper and less labour to tie and trim so really those are the so called greed weed crops, but ithink they are desserved.

I work at a dispensary and we help ppl everyday. Someone comes in and asked for a compassion bag I'm more then happy to help them. The dispensary across the street totally different. Every place is unique and has their own vibe. I'm not saying my boss isn't making money, she is but she gives so much back to the patients that come in looking for relief from whatever ails them. If we weren't there so many ppl would be hurting a lot more and taking a zillion pills, yuck!!
I'm thankful everyday I work there and see the miracle this plant is to so many ppl!!
