Grapefruit and White Widow Female Seeds

Howdy ya'll

A friend of mine is a med grower and is always sending me pics of his plants to makes me jealous. In Jan he started 6 seeds, 2 grapefruit, 2 white widow, 1 S.A durban poison x skunk#1 and 1 local strain called yellow cough.

Of these six, 2 died. One WW and the sadpxsk#1. Leaving him with 1 ww, 2 gf and 1 local strain.

When they all got to be this height and show preflowers, the only male was the local strain.

He was culled and these are the ladies 9 days into flower

Here are the Gf, sativa pheno first, indica, then the ww.

All plants were LST'd, but the gf indica pheno just bent right back up to a straight standing stalk with a little kink in the stem. The white widow and grapefruit sativa phenos both responded well to the LST and have side branching higher than the original main cola. Oh and my friend has these three girls barely squeezed into his C-25 with a 400 watt HPS for both veg and flower.

Thanks for the post bluebublelove,

My grower friend believes he has bought an ounce of ww a few years back. Hasn't seen it since. He remembers it had a very unique smell and taste and a nice clearheaded high. :yummy:

Got some more pics. The grapefruits are dominating in height, so the ww isn't very visible as they were not taken out of the cab for solo pics. I think grapefruits have finally stopped stretching though, so that's good. This is day 21.

And a little bit of everything

Update: The plants are all doing great. The gf indica pheno has the biggest buds so far, and has more of a wide-cluster bud as opposed to the sativa pheno which is producing hotdogonastick type buds. The white widow is the least visible of the plants again as they were not taken out for photographing due to general laziness. The white widow is developing slower than the two gf. It is just now starting to develop noticeable glands on the leafs. Also, the gf both outgrew the widow during the stretch, albeit they all stretched considerably the first two weeks of flowering. The gf seemed to continue a little longer with the stretching. There is no smell coming from the widow as of yet but the gf smell like mango with a hint of dirty gym socks.

Pics are of day 27. Sorry for poor quality pics, the photographer doesn't work. :pointlaug

3-5 weeks to go

3-5 weeks to go

thanks for the reply humbolt, alway dig checkin out your clone-only pics, wish my friend could get summadat. :joint:

Things are coming along nice and fat. The widow is starting to fatten up and they're all doing well despite a lot of leaf damage. Unfortunately, the ww appears to be throwin bananas :badday: They are very few and appear only at the top bud sites (maybe heat stress?). The ww is the only one exhibiting this.

It doesn't appear to be going on a polinating rampage though, so will probably just let it be and maybe get a few seeds outta the deal.

Enough chatter though on with the pics :sasmokin:

Pics are of day 35. Whaddayathink?

This cola hangs out of the cab when I open the doors.

This one started leaning a couple days ago. It looks to be the biggest cola of the bunch.

And a pic with the HPS for good measure.

Almost there and looking very nice. Any germ problems on the sadpxsk#1? I've heard from more than one person the germ rates suck and i have a pack waiting.

Hi there chiefsmokingbud, thanks for stopping by

Each order I've made I got sadpxsk#1 as the freebie (only a couple oders). I gave some out and have tried to pop quite a few myself. I recently was able to get one to pop, out of 5 planted. Two friends were given 5 seeds each. One of the friends said none germed. The other friend got one to germ, grew it out, and it turned out to be male.

I hope the one I've got going now turns out to be female, as it would be nice to actually sample the freebie.

Well, here we are at 7 weeks. Didn't go crazy with the pics, left the HPS on, etc. Messed around w/ the contrast in photoshop. 3 pics.

The cab.

The leaning grepfroot

And finally a semi-decent photo of one of the ww tops.

At first I thought I would cut the two gf together at day 56, and the ww @ 63, but now methinks cut one one gf at wk 8, the other at wk 9, and the ww at wk 10. How does that sound?

Be safe and stay high

frater, i just heard that since the freebies are from the tropics (strain wise) they require 85-90* germ temps so you might try that if you germ some more.

yo buckeye, thanks for stopping by.

thanks for the info chief! I was able to get 2 of the freebies to sprout recently, will have to wait another week before they can go in the oven/cab. been needing to build a veg cab but don't got the funds to do it right now.

Gonna be starting a new thread here in the next week or so. I've got 2 bog medley sprouted, 2 unnamed bag seed varieties, 2 sadpxsk#1, and 2 seeds found in a bag of trainwreck recently. I hope I get atleast one fem out of each.
