Looks killer! But i wonder if its really grape ape. Those leaves look way more sativa than what ive always known as Grape Ape. And it should be completely purple by day 45... Who knows though, it could just be environment related. True way to tell is if it has the grape candy smell. Its pretty unmistakable, and a little different than all the other purps.
Keep updating this thread as she finishes, hopefully she purps up for ya!

Ape goes at like 65-70 days if I remember. I just got the cut myself and the grower who I got it from said that is when she is perfect for take down. Like the above poster said it will turn bright purple and smell like grape candy if you have the actual cut.

thank you finally for all the replies everyone!! especially talktosamson for the flower time. she just started turning purple even tho my room temp is 86F (for CO2). and based from everyones response...it is deffinately grape ape. smells like the sweetest grapyness i have ever grown. not at all like the purple smell of the SR71 PK and other purple cuts, but actually grape candy. kinda snow cappish. deffinately sweet sweet candy. new pics next week guys. i could tell she was longer than 56 days by the way she isnt filling out yet. just more hairs and clear trichs. although im a bummed about the extra two weeks im happy she will eventually fill out(hopefully).

anyone have finished flower pix of her besides subrob's pics?

Yup, that's the Ape. True Ape too! Nice Bro. Both Erkle and the Ape have sativaish leaves like that and will purple like yours did even in high temps... The guy who said it looked too sativa grew something that wasn't the ape... Nice bro.

wow lucky!!! great job man looks killer!!

i wish bc had the selection of clones that cali has, even with the large medical community here, the "designer" strains never make it up here.

Guys - No one can tell what a strain is just by a few pics. He got it from a club which means it could be anything(even tho PNC has a good rep) and the SR71 is about as grapey as you can get also. For it not to be too purple could be just environment and the warmer temps. For this cut to be what it is stated as being is a good guess but thats it. A guess. Looking at leaf patterns and purpling is prolly one of the worst ways to try to determine what a plant truely is. Look up some flowering pics of the cut from other growers on here and you can at least compare them to others. Still not definative but saying it looks sativish and has some purpling like all the blah blah cuts is just pissin in the wind. Looks like some rope regardless and great job on the grow as a whole.

thx for the clarification rain man,

but i determined this is grape ape based on: its source, its flower time, its smell, by comparing it to pics of grape ape grown out by subrob (where ape got the cut supposedly), and based on my experience with past sr71 and other purples i have grown.

And the SR71 cant even compete with the grape smells of these buds. that cut has more kushy undertones. i grew it the run before this one. these are straight 100% grape candy. and you can tell the difference between this and other purps like the sr71 based on the dry shots.

maybe others are saying ohhhh its purple... must be grape. when my intention of this thread was to see if others had ever grown the cut "known as grape ape" out from pnc so i could see some finished product before the chop and predict a chopping time. unfortunately i had to wait and check every day with my scope. now its done and dried....no sr71's here, it IS the grapes. 100%. try some for yourself.

peace

btw the sr71 is a dense main cola bush. if youve ever grown that out before it is very easy to tell the difference.

Hate to disagree with you but for me the leaves during veg and flower for grape ape purple erkle are VERY tell tale leaves and growth patterns. Bet you I could pick the ape out from almost any strain. I think this would be easy for most people if they have grown a very unique strain, which both the ape and erkle are inmvho...:dance013:
