granddaddy purple clone drooping leaves

this granddaddy purple clone begin to develop drooping leaves in the past couple days. i suspect it may be overwattering as it had a long journey where I kept it extra moist to prevent it from drying out on me.

what are your opinions? what can I do to stabilize this clone, I was hoping to make a mother plant out of it.

background info:
strain: granddaddy purple
lights: 69 watts (6500k and 2700k) CFL
medium: rooted in rockwool, in soil (unknown mix from clone provider)

the top of the soil is dry. i watered them two days ago with half strength flora nova grow (1/8 tsp /gallon)

then i would suggest letting them dry out before you add any more water or nute solution and you will be fine

alright, do you think transplanting them would help at all? i acquired the clones about a week ago (they were already rooted at that point) so I'm not sure how long it takes for these to get rootbound.

it should be alright in that cup for a few more days until it dries out, then transplant and water

i'm curious to know if there could be any other reason why this plant is doing this. i checked the clone again and the cup is very light and soil is super dry, yet it seems more droopy than before

what type soil you using? id mabey take her out and give her some new soil, something not to strong and then just give her water for a while, (only when she needs it) she should come out of it

I agree with superjoint on this. When in doubt - change your medium and/or flush. What I would do if i were you is grab your ppm and ph meter and heavily water your plant so you can collect a decent amount of runoff into a separate container. Then test the ppm and ph of the runoff to see what how the numbers differ. High ppm and low ph usually means a salt saturation in your rootzone and you'll need to flush. Right now i can see P (phosphorus) deficiencies (purple stems/fan stems)

If you can grab some, fox farm oceans forest works great for a few weeks with just plain ph'd water. keep us updated

i'm not sure the composition of the soil, i do know that the clone was orginally rooted in rockwool.

i normally use 66% perlite with 33% peatmoss with a dash of dolomite lime.

If the soil is "super-dry" then you need to water it :joint:

Just use plain pH 6.3 water, the plant looks very healthy with the tiniest bit of tip-burn from overfeeding....

are there any cons from transplanting before it is rootbound? i transplanted a clone from a different strain (however the same age as this GDP) recently, but found that it has yet to be rootbound in that styrofoam cup.

i want to transplant it to MY soil mix which I'm much more familiar with, however i'm not sure if I should wait until the roots fill up this small cup first.

today it looked dead, still standing but all leaves totally lifeless. i transplanted it into a gallon pot with my soilless recipe and watered them with just plain water. hopefully by the end of the weekend it'll show some life.

also just so i don't have to start a new thread, i have some plants in a 150watt HPS cab that have droopy lower leaves (almost all) but the new growth towards the top is healthy and standing and very lively. what could be the cause of this?

the clone looks dead =[ leaves are all shriveled and dry, a crispy texture. the main stem is still standing but the plant looks to be in very very bad condition. what should i do? ill post pix later

here's the clone:

Strain: Granddaddy Purple
Lighting: 69 watts (2) 6500k + (1) 2700k CFL
Medium: Clone rooted in rockwool, transplanted into mix of 66% perlite, 33% peatmoss, some dolomite lime
Adequately ventilated and stable temperatures
Watering: by pot weight, been fed once (half strength 1/4 tsp Flora Nova Grow/gallon)

note: i received another different clone from the same source as this one on the same day and it has been growing under the same exact conditions and are doing just fine (BC/OG Kush)

so far what i've done is to flush the soil out with gallons of water and i've also put a humidity dome over the entire clone in an effort to save it

That clone is dead. I bought clones that died a few days after bringing them home from the club too so I know how it feels. My advice is to get some seeds, grow out a good mom and clone that. Yeah, it won't solve the problem at hand and it will take some time, but trust me it will be well worth it. All of the clones I got from the club sucked in the end, either no smell or hermie issues. Good luck bro.

Weather or not this is your first failure you are one closer to success. You have all the best info and support here so don’t give up, the gratification can be immense. :headbange :

Maybe an air embolism or an infection (fungal) in the roots or stem. Pull it out. Are the roots white? Was it fully rooted? Maybe the fertilizer was too much for it and set off the osmotic pressure balance between the total leaf matter vs the fertizer and it died because the roots and fert. needs to be lower than the leaf matter. See Secrets of High Yield Gardens for more in depth explanation.
