Grand Doggy Greatness

First time grower, going into the 7th week of flower. Im using a dwc setup. Shout out to connoisseur genetics.

I just had a couple quick questions

-Whats the best scope to check trichomes 60x 100x? And what do you look for when deciding that they are ready?
-Whats a good guideline for drying/curing, iv seen two different ways that seem to be the most popular. Using a drying rack which seems pretty simple and the other way i seen was just hanging the plant upside down.

Heres a cppl pics.. one with flash and one without

being a beginner, the easiest way to dry to ensure your crop is dry is to cut and hang the branches somewhere with good air circulation. you'll know it's dry enough to bag/ jar when you can snap the branches. if they bend and are rubbery, they are not ready. sometimes you will think the buds are crispy, but when you bag them they will sweat out moisture and that could cause your buds to mold. drying tracks are good and sometimes dry faster if you cut all the stems off, but the buds can appear crispy and dry and deceive a beginner into bagging too early. there are more advanced curing techniques, but I'd stick to the basics for your first couple grows. your bus are looking sexy, enjoy your harvey!

JB44, nice gdoggyp, I run it all the time and it is a great strain.

For curing I chop and trim then hang in ventilated room with good
air flow. Time is dependant on many factors, but when the buds feel
dry I put mine in a clear rubbermaid type container still on the stem.
In that container I also put in a humidistat (cigar humidity meter)
which I make sure is calibrated correctly. If it reads above 65 rh I
take back out to dry longer. I usually like about 60 rh, then I crack it
open to vent out once daily until I can't wait any longer (approx 2 weeks).
The gdoggyp smells so good and is so strong watch out. Gl OG

Look great, really pondering pulling the plug on these girls. I like my super strength strains so when I get a purple I atlest expect ...purple... Looks great johnny.

I always defoliate...a little after initial stretch, and again the final week or so.Hang plants whole for 5 to 7 days in a room that's kept between 55°F/65°F and 55% to 65% RH.Then I cut down to individual branches or nugs as needed and continue to dry for another 3 to 5 days as needed. Then I dry manicure (I find the buds not only dry more evenly this way but also retain their smell/taste better) then on to paper bag to sweat, then jar using Simons A perfect cure every time method.
