I'm noticing the GDP's drink a little more than the Urkles. The tiniest resin glands are (edit) appearing and the GDP I squeezed has that unmistakable artificial grape smell.

Hey Shmokin They are looking very healthy....nice vigorous turgor in the leaves...they're happy ....
at some point, maybe try pulling one of each out for a side by side photo op.....
They're looking very similar from the seat I'm in....so far...

hey bro can ya give us an idea as to how the gdp is smelling, i'm sure the urkle is starting that ripe mellon smell about right now.....after a bit it will get real funky and if you stick a tooth pic down in a bud and then smell it you will notice a grape type smell and man its driving me up the FN wall its an awesome smell......

the nugs are hard and very solid they should hold there weight well, all the bud leaves are turning purple as is the buds them selves, ive been trying to capture it in a pic but have been unseccessfull so far....

Looks great schmokin, I am curious of your yeild... that is a nice long veg, and should prove fruitful for these strains. I agree with bluntitup, in that I will run it probably one final time... and the nugs are all mine.
I will keep a mother of both the Granddaddy, Erkle, and Kush in hopes of hybridizing some larger yeilding purples. I need a few good men. lol

I heard they both do very well outdoors in full sun. Friend of mine pulled a 7lb. Erkle this Fall... wow!!! Is he bullshitting?? seems like it... but even a 3lb erkle is very impressive.

Jaws-very nice grow and you do a hellava job with the flouros!!!

Ps-Grape and GDP are similar but not the same! The GDP is a much better yielder than the Grape. And their growth structure is much different. In my opinion the Grape is a bit stronger and shows more colors. But if you're looking for yield the GDP is better and grows more cola style flowers.

Hey guys,...Does anybody in here know that Purple Erkle was crossed with Big Bud to make Grandaddy purple?
its the same plant..lol...it was crossed to give Erkle a better yield and faster growth(well not that much faster..lol)

Yeah we knew that, it's pretty well known by all. I know Jason King likes the Urkle more but I beg to differ. I like the GDP more. Both smoke qualities and grow qualities are superior imho...well, at least the better smoke quality is better imo, the better grow qualities is a down right fact.

the erkle is a tad bit more potent and flavorfull imo....ive smoked alot of both when The Health Center was around.

imo erkle blows gdp out of the water,....potency is WAY better than the GDP, flavor is much stronger, and it has a great stink to it,...a serious stink that makes yer eyes water and itch...and it goes really deep purple in colour...

if u want quanity go for GDP, if u want quality go for erkle....

I thought you already posted that the GDP had vegged in half the time....which is significant...I thought the purpose of the thread was to show how the two "grow" and note the differences, i.e. which vegges faster....far as I know...

Just because two plants share a parent...does not mean they will grow identically...(obviously they may look alike, etc)....but the man opened the thread saying the GDP vegged twice as fast....did anyone else see that post? Do you guys think he's full of shit?
