grafting to induce flower

I was googling on grafting, and stumbled upon this sentence in the wikipedia-article about grafying:
Grafting has been important in flowering research. Leaves or shoots from plants induced to flower can be grafted onto uninduced plants and transmit a floral stimulus that induces them to flower.[5]

and I'm wondering, has anyone ever tried this with cannabis?
could it be used to grow certain strains in more nordic conditions by grafting a branch from a more photosensitive strain onto it? or even make it flower in summer by grafting an autoflower branch onto it
