Supplies :

Cheap webcam (all do 640x480)
cheaper sunglasses (I think polarized is best)

Heres the story;

Ok I went to the local electronics store to buy a hdtv the other day and I happened to see a webcam (microsoft vx-1000) for $17 .

Well after 5 days of playing with my new sony hdtv I remembered about the webcam I also purchased....lol

I went to plug it in and picture looks great, but in a normally lit room.
Well I went to try it in my growroom and it looked like piss (all I could see was the shade.and a white mess_)

Well I got an old pair of polarized sunglasses and mounted one lens over the webcam to see if it would work, AND IT DID>
But it was still a bit overexposed..

Well next I taped 2 lenses on top of each other and BOOM...
right on the money.

It looks ok but because of a double stacked lens its a bit fuzzy.
But hey it worked, just thought you guys should know.

Never run a live vid feed of your growroom. The last thing you want is someone getting a hold of your ip address and see a growroom. Play it safe

very ingenious using the sunglasses to filter the light. normally i'd go on and on about rule number 1 like the other guys did, but it appears you know what you're doing heh.

If anyone wants any help setting up a secure home network feel free to message.

It can be done with minimal money, and possibly with what equipment you have already.
I do highly suggest getting a good router though.

Excellent router for $150
