Hello IC

i have a big problem on my hands and it started all 5 days ago....
for some reason that i dont wanne mension i broke my ph meter....
in that time my soil ph woz about 7.1 ...i tryed to lower it @ that time but then my ph meter broke...i did notting on my soils ph....
(meanwhile i orderd a ph 'good' ph metre from the states but it wont be here in min 6 a 7 days...still.. :badday: )
so ...with no tools to measure i woz thinking to add distilled water witch i did for 2 waterings...then they toke a turn for the wurst.....so i stopt giving that distilled water....2 days ago

so yesterday they realy needed water bad...and i had to do someting
i went to aquariumshop and bought 50 ph strips for 20$ ...
i came home and tryed it on my tapwater that i know is 8.1 ph...these things are useless, they dont color ...not even afer 5 min ....f****ng ripoff
at this point my problem became bigger....

so i launced a call in my growthread...
asking if i could mix water with known ph ....like this....i had a spa bottle of 5.2 and tapwater of 8.1 ph.... if i mix this will i have a 6.6 ph...this woz inconclusive ...after the thread i had few options.... rainwater witch i did not have atm or ph strips that did not work in my case .......@#§ç#$ù§§ :badday:
or the water mixing....
i had to take last ...!

my Fanleaves are getting lots of yellow spots then they turn yellow .....
its my first grow and i think its due to extreme ph changes ...but my mate dre86 thinks it a P defficient ...you can take a look on the thread
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=620897#post620897

now im paying the price for buying sutch a crappy ph meter ...witch i btw payd 70€ .... :badday:

Looks like a bad case of magnesium deficiency. Is there dolomite lime in your soil? Is there magnesium in your fert water? Since your water ph is so high like 8 there might be alot of calcium carbonate in it. So this would be adding alot of calcium. Calcium + Potassium + little to no Magnesium = Magnesium deficiency. FYI, mixing 1/2 6 ph water with 1/2 7 ph water might not get you 6.5 ph water because it would depend on how each is buffered to that certain ph (resist change) To cure magnesium deficiency, you can use 1-2 teaspoons (5-10ml) epsom salts/magnesium sulfate per gallon (3.8L) of water.

That was pretty cool I found that quote about your fertilizer needing extra magnesium. :jerkit: The cannabis infirmary is alot of guessing but I think I got your diagnosis right on. :woohoo:

could it be that they need a good decent meal ...i checked my log and its been 10 whole days that i fed her, could that be the reason ?....i can't feed her right without a ph meter sproutco...
only have a ppm meter that goes to 1999 ppm...
can i add nutes to distilled water and only use a ppm meter to measure... would that be safe or not...??

Put 2 teaspoons (10ml) epsom salts in 1 gallon (3.8L) of distilled water and pour on the pots till it comes out the bottom. Your plants will green up! :canabis:

From the Blues Brothers:

[while standing at the entrance to the Triple Rock church watching the service with much dancing and Hallelujah choruses, a heavenly light shines down on Jake and he has an epiphany]
Jake: The band... the band...
Reverend Cleophus James: DO YOU SEE THE LIGHT?
Jake: THE BAND!
Reverend Cleophus James: DO YOU SEE THE LIGHT?
Elwood: What light?
Reverend Cleophus James: HAVE YOU SEEEEN THE LIGHT?
Jake: YES! YES! JESUS H. TAP-DANCING CHRIST... I HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT!

Magnesium deficiency symptoms are quite distinct as interveinal chlorosis, which appears first on the older leaves. Once a Mg deficiency occurs, it is very difficult to correct, particularly if the deficiency occurs during the mid-point in the growing season. In those plant species that have a higher Mg requirement, the deficiency may be triggered by various environmental and physiological stress...An interesting side effect of Mg deficiency is the increased susceptibility to fungus disease infestation...

magnesium does that effect the ph in the water?
and how do i go about with no ph meter.....???

Magnesium sulfate = Epsom salts Put 2 teaspoons (10 ml) in 1 gallon of distilled water (3.8L) and pour on the plants till it comes from the bottom holes. Don't worry about ph. Epsom salts is essentially a neutral salt and does not really affect ph. The distilled water will take on the ph of the soils initial ph.

If for some reason our guess turns out wrong, magnesium won't hurt your plants. I was going to say that you could spray your plants with 1 teaspoon (5ml) epsom salts per quart (.95L) of water and get a fast response. But, I see they are in flower and you don't want a whole lot of salts scattered over them. You know I am a curious child... :bigeye: Make the solution to spray rate and take a q-tip. Dip it in the solution. Make lines on a deficient leaf and see what happens. Or spray 1 leaf. Report back with what happens. Could you spell your intials in green with the solution or would it just run together with green up? I think with iron you can spell your initials. LOL.

That will be cool. You should see immediate greenup if we are right on. Report back. The rate I have is to use 1.38 Tablespoons per quart of water (edit: I found two sources that suggest this rate). This is alot more than Ed Rosenthal suggests to use. Spray the majority of the leaves you are going to test with his rate of 1 teaspoon per quart and then spray 1 leaf with my 3x rate. This is science and we will know if a better rate exists than what the "authoritys" suggest.

(The following is Ed Rosenthals published sway on the subject...)

...Plants absorb water and nutrients through openings on the leaves called stomata. These pore-like openings also permit CO2 to enter and release oxygen.

Foliar feeding is a very efficient way of providing plants with nutrients because it goes directly to the plant canopy and doesn't have to take the long trip from medium to roots and up the stem.

Make sure the solution you are using is not too concentrated by spraying a few healthy leaves to see if there is any damage. If the leaves curl or look unhealthy in any way two days after spraying, dilute the mix by 50% and try again. Always foliar feed early in the light cycle so the plant parts have a chance to dry off.

Foliar feeding too often can cause over-fertilization. Weekly sprays are generally the maximum. After foliar feeding the first day, spray the plants with pH adjusted water daily for a few days. This provides the plant an opportunity to absorb any fertilizer residue.

When plants are regularly foliar fed, they use less nutrient absorbed by the roots, so the concentration of the nutrient solution can be lowered a bit.

Foliar feeding can also be used to correct deficiencies quickly. For instance, spraying a solution of a teaspoon of magnesium sulfate in a quart of water until it drips off the plant can treat a plant that is suffering from a magnesium deficiency. This provides the plant with magnesium very quickly. Magnesium sulfate should be added to the medium or hydroponic solution as well, so new growth has access to the mineral.

Foliar feeding is especially useful in delivering nutrients that don't translocate, that is, move from one part of the plant to another. Phosphorous and iron are two examples of this.

Stop foliar feeding buds at least three weeks before harvest so no fertilizer residue remains when the bud is picked.
Thanks I.M. Boggled for the quote. Excellent. :respect:

i have some update on my plants...
i removed the sickest/dead leaves to prevent fungus
i toke 4 L and added 1 teaspoon of magnesium.....fed them with the solution and had 1 L left ...added a extra spoon of magesium to the 1L and sprayd them with that....here is the result...

these are in the back of the room 3 plants middel and right plants are verry sick the left is doing quite well in this surcomstances

this is 1 plant infront of the room

this is also a WW infront

im watching them closely to see if it still spreads or it is balanced...
should they turn green again?

Dude, you're tripping.
Those are buds on your plant.
The fan leaves always begin turning yellow after buds have begun.
They turn yellow and fall off. Quite natural. Especially lower branch leaves.
Haven't you looked at enough gallery photos by now?

You're gonna fuck yourself out of some primo bud if you keep freaking on them. Just water and light as usual. Fuck the magnesium and salt and nutes. Those plants will be ready to harvest soon.

And shame on all the rest of you jokers who encouraged this guy to take unnecessary action. Pay attention folks. We're supposed to be helping, not hurting.
