Good Vibes needed

My wolf ran off at 4:00am this morning when her and I went outside for a break from working, I have no clue, i think she chased the local fox that live under our porch off into the woods.
I really need some positive vibes she will find her way home.
She's hasn't been around this place to long, so does not know the layout around the forest here yet.
Worried about coyotes tonight, they've been around the last few nights.
She's my youngest boys wolf in a way, she's been by him since day one when we brought him home and now he's calling for her and I can't explain to a 22month old she ran off.
feeling like shit now, this sucks. hope she comes back soon.

It's early in the am, though that isn't of much comfort I know...

Keep calling out... give her some familiar noises to hone in on... and some food into the wind.

Hopefully (& likely) she's just having a grand ole time exploring in her new woods... give it a little... she'll be back for the food & love... plus to tell you bout all the shit she found!

Amazing animals... she'll find her way home! Sending you some vibes ;-)

I wouldn't worry. My dog will run off for longer than I'm comfortable with if I'm not careful, but he always comes back.... they are pretty smart and have no problems finding their way. It's tough when they are young and you don't know if they can take care of themselves and find their way back though. I guess the alternative is keeping them tied up all the time, but for most that's not a good option.

To many roads around where she ran off, older kids are already on my ass about her running off.It would be one thing if it was here at the house where we live, but it's unknown territory where she is running, and I don't know if she is smart enough to follow her own scent back home.

i have an two idot dogs... but the one is starting to making it over our 4-5 foot fence... starting to get worried about that

i feel ya tr33! its really hard to rely on nature but have faith nature is more powerfull than we think!

and all else fails start driving asking calling and putting up flyers

this is also why both my dogs are chipped!

ever think about ductapping a gps on there backs?

Usually not a problem... my dog has a very high prey drive and is VERY fast. When he was 6 months old I took him for his 1st mt bike ride and he chased a deer, just disappeared into the forest in seconds. I went and looked for him, but 30 min later he's back at the last place I saw him on the trail. They can certainly find their way back even in unfamiliar territory. I started keeping a e-collar on him after watching him almost catch a deer before he was even a year old. It's the only way to have him off a leash and persuade him not to chase wildlife, or herd cattle if they are around.

Good Luck Tr33, I hope your find your girl! Is there anyway to put her bed or a piece of your kids clothing at where she ran off? Put it outside, high enough up where another animal wont mark it but low enough for it to draft a scent. Hopefully she comes back, we had a dog run off when the police kicked in our doors in 06. Looked for that dang mutt all day, finally like 10:30 at night I was outside on the phone after everything had quieted down and she came up from behind me somewhere. Hopefully your girldog comes back! Keep us posted!

Cannagirl, That's just what my daughter asked me to do this morning and at her request I placed her blankets and teddy bears outside for her to find hopefully.
I just got back from riding my motorcycle on the back roads out here. Figured she would hear the bike and because she loves to chase me, and she would find me hopefully by sound of my dirt bike. I'm a little anxious atm for the kids, it was the last night of the Full moon, must have been animal stuff going on this morning.
She's extreme wolf, only goes into heat once a year in Nov on schedule every year. so no worries there. she has a thing for that fox under the porch also, and the fox is way smarter than any hybrid wolf dog. All I can think is straight up hill to the top of the mountain behind us, and over the top down into Moose territory, and that's the last beast she needs to meet up with, our local gigantic prehistoric female Moose.
Moose and wolf, primal beasts, except my girl is a goofy hybrid contortionist ghost wolf/malamute.

yes, she's chipped, dna registered, harness with nameplate riveted to it.
Hard to tell the kids to settle down and give her time, for them time is forever at this point.
Back out for another ride, kids are telling me I've been on the comp to long.

I hope you find her TR33! I swear I could drop my dogs miles from my house and they would come home, but every dog is different. I know wolves and malamutes like to run!

I have a 13 year old Malamute, and have lived with 2 malamute/wolf hybrids. They are way smarter then you think. The malamute may make her seem a little goofy, but a wolf.. you can't get more instinct then that. Hopefully she use it to find her way home. Good luck & good vibes!!!!!!!!!! :comfort:

She finally came home this morning around 7am, I'm sitting in the back with my youngest drinking coffee and there's Noli as she hops over the back chain link fence and slinks over to us one big matted mess.
Last night was rough for me hearing the coyotes in the distance out here, we live in a Mtn Lion watch area, our local bear visits here in our neighborhood weekly smashing trash cans and whatever.
Looks like she had fun where ever she went, just finished giving her a bath, she rolled in some dead animal, talk about nasty, had to bathe the kid to after he rolled her on the ground, damn I'm glad she came back. Any time we go out for walks if she find smelly things she rolls in it if I don't catch her first.
My boy is all ecstatic chasing Noli now and the girls well they are being young ladies, getting after Dad for not watching their wolf, punched in the arm by my oldest girl while she handed me the leash and told me not to forget to use it at night. It was kinda my fault, but Noli is a ghost and can move fast and silent. I don't blame her for being a wolf and doing wolfy things, but I wish that Malamute part of her would override the wolf impulse.

Glad to hear it came back, our dog of 11 years took off after a bear about two weeks ago and did not make it back. Bear tried to get in a window, dog scared it off then took off when I opened the door. Bear 1 -Dog 0
