This is the mix used to make beer not the beer itself. It is like molasses in consistency. The addition of sugar, after this mix ferments with the yeast, is used to create the alcohol and it's strength. I don't think this mix, by itself, has any alcohol in it.

in the OFC we were chatting about adding old beer to teas. ive done it and found no negative effects and moslty positive. go easy though. we were even talking about how some tea mixtures can lead to the making of alcohol. id say give it a try.

I wrote the company to find out if this beer mix (malt extract) has any alcohol on it's own or if the alcohol is created in the process.....waiting to hear something back.

Malt extract does not have any alcohol in it.

use the mix to make beer, then toss the residue into your compost pile.

This beer additive would work in a tea. The micro-herd would eat the stuff up.

I used stale Grolsch last winter in my teas with no ill effects but using the extracts like you have would be better.
