I'm on the edge. Of what I'm not sure.

I use the can max 10 on a 150, and it's almost too much.

Try the 8" max fan on the 100 and you should be good.

I actually dont link the MAX fans for pulling/pushing through resistance such as a carbon filter. I tried the 8" max fan on a phresh 8x24" filter and it was struggling to get cfm through it.

I ask myself 'wtf' and went online and compared specs. the inline type (aka mixed vent type like S&P) can't handle resistance as well.

can fan max with no resistance 667 cfm, at max (1.5") resistance, its cfm drop to only 100. That is 15% of the original CFM.

comparing to the can fan 8" HO fan at no resistance it is 720 cfm, at max it is 316 cfm. Thats 43%.

the vortex 8" has a slightly better ratio at around 46% if i remember correctly, i went with the vortex and am much more pleased.

I haven't hooked it up yet but I just bought a 10" vortex and when I plugged it in to get an idea of how well it would work I swear to you I thought I was holding onto a mini jet engine. If I hadn't been holding the fan itself I probably would have been looking like a cartoon flying around the room hanging onto the cord. All this and a 10 year warrantee. Wicked cool if you ask me.

There is a video on youtube from a grow shop were they connect a Vortex to a C.A.P. Valueline back to back using a carbon filter and the Valueline overpowered the Vortex . I bought the Valueline at close to half the price .

Vortex fans are extremely reliable and very well made I have had one running for years, get a bigger one than you need and put a speed controller on it. :canabis:

But the vortex will likely outlast it by many years ;)
