i just picked up two nice metal storage cabinets that i'll be using one for my grow cab. its a nice discreet cabinet that i'll be keeping in the garage to add to the whole stealth of it all. but becasue i live in hott ass socal, i know i'll be needing to keep an eye out for the temps inside the container.

i was wondering if you guys could point me to the right path. i've already read plenty about grow rooms and mini cabs so i think i have an idea what to do. i base most of my plans on the mills pride club designs becasue its very similar.. just metal.

the cab sits 18" deep, 36" wide, and 6 ft tall. there are plenty of adjustable shelves that i can use to section out the grow cab. again my 400Mh will power the whole thing so it should be more than enough.

my only thing im wondering about is intakes and if i want negative pressure or not. still tryna get that part down. help?

You'll definitley want negative pressure environment,no place for the stinkies to get out except in the exhuast, but you should use a carbon scrubber to clean the exhuast air.A good 4" 172cfm inline centrifugal exhuast fan should do the trick for replenishing the air.

What are the temperatures in your garage?Temps in the garage above 75F are going to be a no go unless you get some sort of A/C in the garage.

First let's talk security. Are you sure you want to post wide screen establishing shots of your garage as well as pictures of your car and motorcycle?

Check out FullMetalJacket's cab. He hasn't posted for close to a year so, no questions but, it's too similar to yours to go unread. That tote is going to weigh 80-100 lbs, make sure it's supported.

yeah thanks freezerboy but i live in an old persons community in the middle of the desert. perks of being in the military and a model citzen. im not too worried about the nice folks coming here and tryna steal my girls.

Jnugg-the temps in the garage flux between 75-85 degrees but usually settles in between the two. i will look into a portable ac becasue i know it'll be a bit hotter inside that cab and it gets hot when im working on my other obsessions - cars, bikes, and tools. God, i love my garage.

very useful info guys thanks!

Hey buddy,

I too am about to explore into the metal storage cabinet grow op myself and am too seeking for information :), and have a lil bit to share with you too (least i hope it helps)

Well I was exploring the internet looking at stuff online like usualy when I found this which gave me the vision of my next setup, but I personally am not going to pay 2400$ for there system!

78" H x 48" W x 24" D

But yea personally ima run a 6 or 8inch inline (most likely a 8 just to be sure) with a Aircooled hoob/Tube and most likely a 1k in mines, but for yours a 4inch inline should be plenty for a 400w in there.

Are ya going to split ya cabs into 2? Top flower then bottom section for veg like they did?

Also have ya thought about using both ya metal cabs and making a side by side or front to back? (they have them on that site)

Damn... 1k professor? That's rough in a cab with any ventilation. I'd recommend a 600w... almost as high of lumen output and a lot less heat to deal with. Although even my 600w in a 3x4x7 cab couldn't get under a 100F without an a/c.
