Golden Tiger V3 Fertilizer Issues

I'm new to the community.. I popped 3 seeds and they seemed to struggle from the start. I usually don't use any fertilizer on seedlings but I was trying Foop for the first time. It has directions for use on seedlings so I thought I would give it a shot. Well in two weeks it looked like my plants had root rot, I couldn't believe it. I quit watering them for a couple days and then just started giving them water for a few days and they seemed to be responding well. The plants were in veg mode at this point so I started back on the Foop. This time the reaction was more severe. Drooping leaves, twisting leaves, brown edges and spots on the leaves. I discontinued Foop again and started flushing. The plants have recovered and look much better. But I don't know what to use for fertilizer. My soil is measuring 6.4 ph, I ph my water, room temp is 81f max during the day and 70f at night. My humility is in between 45-60%. I keep the lights 22-24 inches from the plants. I have read the strain does not like to much nitrogen. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can use for fertilizer?

Welcome.

What soil are you using. Depending on what's already mixed in, the Tiger may not be hungry for supplemental nutes for a Month or more.

I am using FoxFarm Ocean Forest mixed with bat guano
Give them just water.
Nutrients are needed for leaves, when they get bigger in 2-3 weeks.
Start with quarter dose of nutrients and later go for half dose if needed.
Keep it simple, sativas don't need much until in full flowering if you have a strong light.

Happy new year :)
Thanks!

I agree, soil may be too hot…I switched yrs ago to dry organic ferts. Soo much easier and much better results. I’m using earth dust this run which have been discontinued. Going forward it’s either Dr Earth or Gaia Green.

Welcome to ICMag and thanks for supportging our work Oldmarathonrunner :)
The PH, moisture and temps seem to be ok. What about the ec in your waterings and feedings ?

GT 3 needs much lesser EC and nitrogen than modern indoor hybrids. So better start GT3 from seed or clone in a soft soil with only water, and start feeding only when plants are bigger and request it.

If you are experiencing root rot make sure to don't overwatering and only water again when soil is well dry.

Post some pics of the seedlings if you have the chance.

I don't test ec... I am only using water right now and seem to be doing much better! I will post pics soon.

They did recover and grew to a little over 6'. Two of the plants grew quite a bit of flower meaning all flower very few leaves.. The third plant started fox tailing really bad. I harvested one plant with about 75% milk and 25% clear. It produced a nice long lasting mellow buzz with a bad case of the munchies :). One plant was milky with some amber. The buzz from that plant, well lets just say it will sit you down for a while. I ended up with about 18 quart jars about 3/4 full. The negatives are the flowering time and the lack of density in the buds. Other than that everyone loves it! I'll let you know how the gummies turn out :)
